It's a dark cloudy night with no rain after a sweltering sunny day, that's when it started. whether like that is common in our town. Finally Dr. Apollo is going to leave for good, for months he has bean visiting on request of our towns only doctor. The doctor in town, Dr. Richards, could not help me with my sleeping problems, but I can hear Dr. Apollo telling my dad the solution through the crack in the floor beneath my bed.
"Judging by what you both have told me I would prescribe a simple medicine, but seeing that he is 15 have him listen to this when he goes to sleep," Apollo said dully while handing him a tape.
"what is this?"
"Its a simple recording that I have put together that induces deeper sleep. The reason Luke draws those strange pictures and remembers false memories is because he rarely dreams and his mind needs rest.
I had to stifle a laugh after that because my dad seamed more confused than before. After that he took out his notebook that he used to record our question and answer sessions on, but he just reread a little.
Then he said, "OK John I only have one more question before I depart. Has Luke ever seemed in a sort of waking trance?"
"Wait yes, on his 14th birthday when we were finishing up the harvest he just spaced out for 10 minutes," my dad said.
I was surprised by this. I didn't even know.
Apollo said hurriedly, "What, that changes things sorry but I must hurry if I am to make arrangements to stay."
"um what I thought you were done?"
"no this changes things but still have him listen to the tape."
I had to move fast because I could here my dad coming up the stairs. I just pulled myself out from under my bed. I had no time to pay attention to the scrape I got I could here him in front of the door. I got in bed as I saw the doornob turning, then I pulled the covers up...made it.
My dad said to me, "Luke? sorry to wake you but Dr. Apollo said you should listen to this when you sleep. OK?"
"OK thanks" I said trying my best to seem tired.
he adjusted the headphones to be comfortable and closed the door. I pressed play then a song that sounded like birds seemed to push all other thoughts from my head. I drifted off to sleep almost emidiatly.
End of Chapter 1
well thats the first part of my first story please comment on it. Also if that seemed boring just wait the next part is intense.
The next thing I know is that I am being pulled out of my bed by the arm of a huge creature. I bit down but it did not even blink. It shifted its grip so I could breath though, so yay for me. I could see through its hairy fingers that it was holding the tape, but by now we were already in the forest.
I realized that it was an enormous wolf but it was upright, then it spoke, how did it speak? "do not struggle all will be explained soon"
I answered (we were well into the forest by now) "When, Where, Who are you, What are you?! Where are my parents"
It smiled then answered in its hollow voice, "soon, at the organization, I am Jack the retriever a lycan as are you Luke"
This did not help in fact for every answer there were 10 more questions. I could tell by how he looked, considering he is a lycan that he was BAD I wouldn't trust him with dirt. (I had no idea where we were now
My mind was on something else though, "you haven't said were my parents are."
"They a-"
"You better not have hurt them. Did you? You did!"
"No they are unconscious"
"So you did hurt them!"
"No I had to drug them."
"Why."
"That is a long story an- AH we are here I can explain while we wait."
I felt sick to my stomach when we were moving so I almost threw up when he stopped us. (at the speed we were going I wouldn't be surprised if we were 2 stated away.) I was suprised that I did not run away when he put me down.
When I saw that we were at the old abandoned observatory I said, "This is were we were going."
He frowned for a second before he spoke I do not know if he was speaking to me or himself, "This is not a telescope it is a light chamber. One that is linked to all the others. when any moonlight is on it it allows us lycans to moonjump, or as you would say 'teleport' us to the catacomb manor."
I was going to say something but a beam of light shot from the tele- 'light chamber' then it gave of a glow and made a low hum.
"now I can tell you Luke how you came to be here. It goes something like this ..."
