It's a freaky coincidence that I logged on just the same time that this was happening. It was stated abundantly clear that this repeated acknowledgment of spam is not only spam, but annoying in my other rant about AG's citizens.
Okay. Think of it this way, if you saw a guy shoot another guy on the street, would you stand there oblivious to what he actually did and be like "Omg ur going go to jail omfg i'm reporting you" while he ran away and GOT away?
Although some of the above examples don't apply to this situation, a few of them do. We already know this is spam, we already know he's going to get banned, and we already know what the guy before you said. What are you people trying to gain when you say THIS IS SPAM.
Forgive me if I'm too blunt, but if something is done about this, everytime someone spams, it will take a moderator twice as long to delete it.
I bet you... probably 10 people sent Carlie messages or maybe even emails about this. I think that little flag button is a bit underrated among us.

once a person says and indicates it is spam and reports it to a mod, people should just stop posting in it. because there is really no need for 8 people to post "this is spam"
I really agree with you on this Jrmagic, which is also why I have chosen to keep to IMing mods the disturbances, as it is quicker.
It's amazing how the only time when it seems that no mods are on, it's either a spammer, a troll, or a complete flamer that breaches the site and causes exaggerated mayhem before someone finally comes on and solves the problem. It's been proven too ; it's happened before.
It's not just the ones who cause it too ; it's also the people who contribute to the annoyance by hypocritically posting that this is spam, I'm reporting you, while the ones below him act like a bunch of sheep and do the same thing. Flagging is like a ninja. It silently attaches itself to the comment in question and when more ninjas attack, it becomes news to those that are in charge and they deal with it. Posting that it is spam, however, is not.
Flagging NEEDS more people to help, but reporting it to a mod and posting that it is spam needs only one person to tell. However, the message seems to not get through these guys.
AND... I'm not done, AND, those that contribute to the spam are veterans who have been in these situations before, THAT is what pisses me off. If it's newcomers or slightly new people, we would just go "ohh, they are new, it's ok for them, they'll learn that you aren't supposed to do that", but NO, we have people that are wood lords and wood princes that go to this person's threads and constantly remind them that it is spam and tell them that they are going to be banned, not only that, but they comment on his profile saying the same exact thing! As if this guy cares that it's spam! He's done this what, 7 times? I think he gets the point, yet he's going to obliviously do it anyways. You should have already figured out that if their sole objective is to spam, they are going to do so without harking to the rules, and that's what saddens me.
Flag comment. 1st person who notices gets to say that it's spam. First person to post into a mod/admin's profile gets to report the thread. OTHER PEOPLE JUST FLAG! Simple rules.
Flag the OP, then ignore the thread. If more come, then flag the OP, then ignore it. Simple step to do. There is no reason whatsoever to say that it is spam TO A BOT.
Obviously, the site webmaster made this bot to advertise and he has done wrongly. I'm sure after it is taken care of, Danny is going to have a long talk with him. Again, no reason to comment to a bot.
Your post: spam. Read the thread if you want to know what it's about.

It also happens sometimes when there are mods on. Then it just gets dealt with so quickly that there's less of an issue.
Before I was modded, I was online during such a spam attack... And yes, seriously, people need to realize that they should stay away from the spam. But they don't. They feel like they're doing the right thing when they state it's spam...
I had a really good example, but unfortunately (for the sake of example) the thread has been deleted. But it was full of such replies...

It's the "look, I'm informing people of the rules and thus not spamming!" syndrome. Though they obviously are.
Arw.
What am I supposed to do then?!?
Avoid the spam threads after they have been reported. Don't bother with them. If there are so many spam threads that you can't get to the normal threads, go offline or go play a game until it gets fixed.
It also happens sometimes when there are mods on. Then it just gets dealt with so quickly that there's less of an issue.
Plus, moderators aren't invisible super heroes who can listen mentally to all cries of distress from anxious forum-goers and swoop down from Krypton to help... um... right? Uh, Strop?

I guess they just can't make up their mind. =D

Yeah, that would be the best way to go.

The best solution....is neither flagging, complaining, or posting on a mod's wall.... Witness the power of IM.

Nah, he's just a rockstar ninja.

That is true.
I don't check my wall constantly while I'm online, but AIM and Skype make these fancy little noises whenever someone throws me a message. It's very efficient.

Bah, ever since I got AIM, my requests being fulfilled have nearly doubled.
