Note: I have gotten Toxic Clutch (from the same group) but not what I was looking for (so it's not one group per enemy). Is something very strange going on?

In my experience, Mokoshotar is usually the one that drops it. I believe each enemy has a selection of five or six possibles. I've gotten Toxic Clutch from the Tunnel Beast and the Magical Monkey, and Venomsteel Greaves from Shunny and the Magical Monkey.

what about shock gear? i got the leggings from the tunnel beast once but that's it

Believe it or not, I think I can answer this too.

Thunder Mask: Mokoshotar and once off the Bunny
Charged Armor: Shunny and Magical Monkey
Spark Leggings: Tunnel Beast and Magical Monkey

Pretty sure they are random drops, those are just the ones you got.

I was curious so I took a level 30 party and ran a bunch of training fights, keeping track of who dropped what. The results for each findable item is below.

Amberstone Sword - Flower Zombie (4); Mokoshotar (7)
Posidon's Fury - Tunnel Beast (2); Shunny (3); Flower Zombie (1)

Nightvision - Tunnel Beast (7); Magical Monkey (2)
Flex-o-Matic - Shunny (5); Mokoshotar (3)
Black-Ops Boots - Shunny (2); Magical Monkey (5)

Venomsteel Armor - Shunny (2); Flower Zombie (1); Mokoshotar (5)
Toxic Clutch - Tunnel Beast (4); Magical Monkey (2)
Venomsteel Greaves - Shunny (3); Magical Monkey (4)

Thunder Mask - Flower Zombie (1); Mokoshotar (3)
Charged Armor - Shunny (2); Magical Monkey (1)

So judging from this, what appears to be the case is each item has two sources, except for the Flower Shoes, Venomsteen Armor, and Posidon's Fury which have three. I should note the Amberstone Sword and Posidon's Fury always appear in addition to the normal drops from the armor list.

So it's possible the drops are random and I just have some pretty spectacular luck, but there does seem to be a pattern. Just my $0.02.

honestly who cares? its not like its the greatest armor. there is so much more armor that's way better than it. i had it, thought it was useless after a while, and sold it for a cheap price. big deal.
