1) Depends completely on the circumstances you'll be having them as pets under. Typically: Dogs require (a lot) more attention, but does also give a different kind of affection back. Cats require little attention on comparison, but are more independent creatures. Give a little, get a little. Give a lot, get a lot. Dogs can be a lot more unruly, though. For most people I would say cats would be a better choice of pet. Not that they necessarily are, but given lesser time required to take care of them, there's less chance of them being neglected.
2) Big cats? Talking lions and cougars here? 'Cause I'm pretty sure those could beat most kinds of dog in a fight... An average house cat in a fight against a medium sized average dog would barely stand a chance, though. Dog jaws. They're powerful. Will snap a cat neck quite easily.
I think cats (even house cats) control dogs unlike what you see on TV.My dogs are scared to go near my cats. And I have 3 cats (two of them small types) and 2 dogs (one a cockerspaneil and one a german shepard chow mix).
my cats kick the crap out of my dog(german sheppard golden retriever mix) the dog cowers in fear. dogs need too much attention and break too many things, cats are laid back and self reliant
I like dogs more the cats, My grandma has a cat. The cat is... too ""independent"". It doesn't let me or anyone touch him.
I had a dog, friendly, kind (lol). Truly, a good friend.
So, my answer, as far as my knowledge allows me to answer, I choose dogs. Cats aren't bad, but for a good pet, I prefer friendly pets. And cats aren't as friendly as dogs.
2) What would win in a fight
Tricky question, some dogs are actually afraid of cats. and as the common cliche says, cats are afraid of dogs. It depends how brave the animal can be. Buy my guess? Dogs. With their jaws, they could easily kill a cat.
Talking lions and cougars here
Lion vs wolf. Feline family against canine family.
cats are cute but dogs ar a lot more fun than cats. in a fight between a regular house cat and a regular house dog the dog would win ( ive seen a dog kill a cat). but between a lion and a wolf the lion would win cause they are stronger.
Cats are smarter (nearly said more smart xD) so in a fight with suitable terrain they can have a good go at it. As pets however,
Dogs are fun to play with etc whereas cats are better to stroke and make funny pictures out of which you will then post on the internet waiting for a geek to caption him/her. Therefor, I shall buy a cat and a dog.
I think dogs are the better pet because they are friendly, loyal, and non-judgmental. I think a dog would win in a fight though, because they are physically stronger, but cats are smarter; so . . . I don't know, but I think the dog would win.
Cat or dog... Ask a fire hydrant, it should give you a pretty much accurate answer. I favor cats over dogs though. Cats are pretty independent and they don't require a walk every 30 seconds. They also *cough* know where they are allowed to... pee. Also, my cat Tails was so independent, he left for three days and came back content and safe, unfortunately, the neighbor's dog didn't.
Dogs are much better than cats because they are more loyal. I'm not talking for all of the cats and dogs in the world because I certainly know that some cats in this world are much more loyal then some of the dogs in this world. I am talking about from my perspective so far.
I agree with the last line as well "I believe a Cat would win as a Big Cat Cat could kill a dog with ease." But a Big Dog could also kill a cat with ease as well.
You can't really decide here it's just for overall opinions because some dogs are more loyal then cats and vice versa in all ways including cuddling.
You could spend a lifetime searching for a cat that is truly loyal (i.e. Die for it's master) and it would take you 5 minutes to find a dog. Dogs also rock!
In a fight, a house cat would be a snack, while in the wild, wolfs always hunt in packs that can take down a 2000 pound bull moose, so, a wolf would win against anything but lions (which also hunt in packs).
To find the question if a Cat Loves you (or a dog) it depends on If you Love them and their nature.
They could of grown up on the street and been in fights - so they would most likely have a nature of attacking things and may not be as friendly as a cat who was raised from a kitten in a Domestic Home. Same goes with a dog.
