I want to nominate Nirvana for Kurt's excellent songwriting and Alice In Chains for being a band like no other. They both were there when the genre grunge was created and in my opinion they were one of the last bands to play real rock, nowadays it's mostly commercial bands that don't have enough talent or passion to play. I also think both bands are awesome because they mocked MTV in every interview. Nowadays everybody is on MTV to be seen and gain popularity but back then they just didn't care what people in general thought about them. They did their own thing and did not care for money.
