Since I just wanted to over-hype this for all it was worth out of sheer boredom, I bring to you:
Why I Quit AG
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7735/scan0012e.jpg
and a link.
and so this isn't just total spam, here's the rant, number by number:
1. Threads on these forums are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Who the hell cares what's your favorite hummingbird or a new type of dandelion that was just discovered? That kinda stuff really has no discussion value!

2. A CRUD LOAD (not pointing any fingers) of AG members are extremely annoying and seem to speak in only "blahs" and "Blabbity"s to me. I hate it.

3. Any thread that I have known, loved, and been apart of, is dead. and since I've tried necroing them, it simply doens't work. I HATE THAT TOO.

4. When there isn't a barrage of bad threads or "blah"s, it's just a bitter, ill silence. Where the only dialouge in the AG community is nothing but elipses.

5. The off-site relationships I have made from this site are allat least SOMEWHAT regretable. I seem to regret them more so each day as well.

6. Do I really even have to say anything that hasn't already? The main thing that ticks me off is that they seem to not take care of much spam, even when they're on.

7. I HAVE BEEN SO FRUSTRATED FROM THIS SITE, BEING THE MEMBERS, OR THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE, THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF BEATING MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL, TAKING A RAZOR TOOL AND LITERALLY GUTTING MYSELF OUT OF PURE RAGE, I'VE EVEN GOTTEN THE RAZOR TO MY GUT BEFORE BAILING OUT DUE TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF REPERCUSSIONS ON MY FAMILY.

also, yes, I am quitting AG, for the previous reasons. Dunno if I'll come back.

Now I'm sure some of you have asked me about the projects I have left unfinished here, main of which is the Moderation Wars, they'll be continued on my DeviantArt account [url=http://thoadthetoad.deviantart.com]Thoadthetoad.deviantart.com[/link]
So then, good bye AGers, I probably won't burn bridges, yet.

Also, Skater, you're the CEO of the ZSC, not that it matters, as it's more dead than the zombies.

Regulations state that I should probably lock this thread, but if anybody has anything else to share, I'm going to leave it for the time being.

Gawd, another awesome member quitting.

I agree with you in several aspects, mainly the threads. Bunch of crap.
Well, we will miss you.

Bye?

Well Bye then Thoad. Sad to see another member leaving...especially an Art Forum Regular...but I guess things happen and the site can't be what you want it to be, neither will it stay the same forever.

Bye then. I hope to see you back sometime...

"what song are you listening to right now"

It was a milking thread to let you know GAGA. You dump a song and leave. Come back 5 minutes later and repeat. No discussions or such. Thankfully I had a hand in pulling it down. It was disgusting how some people spam a whole page by themselves in 5 minutes.

---------

Even though I don't know you Thoad...well I feel sorry that AG is losing another ttly awesome member...and the number of the remnant of the users who do make a point in helping the site/posting well is being reduced =[

Now there are only people who do 'rate-spamming' or take a profile as a chatroom when there are billions of Im programs available >_>

God save us from them.

Well...goodybe...AG has a loss today....

Aww. It's always sad to see an active member go, especially one that's been around as long as you. It does seem as if members are starting to make threads just for the sake of making them though...

Sorry you feel this way mate. =[ Bye

Someone is seeing easy points in this, I see...
Yes, the thread quality is decreasing, and the better threads are dying because people do not care to read and/or write longer posts.
Any thread formulated in a way that would increase the discussion is ignored, while spammy topics are flooding the forums.
The silence comes with the rest of us not seeing a reason to post on the morbidly boring and anti intellectual threads.
The "off-site connection"... Not really AG's problem.
For the mods, I am not sure if you got the fact that most, if not all is currently troubled with exams, which makes it hard to keep up with everything. Nemo is still a killer mod, though.

Now, for the leaving: Dramatic, giving people another bad thread to go to (because they ignore the wall of text), and giving up is just making you kinda pathetic to me, but it is your choice.

you're one to talk.

Anyways, this was just a way of seeing what would happen (though I am pretty much quitting right now), and will put up one small fight before I leave.

You just kinda pointed out the chain of misfortune that 1, 3, and 4 had.
The "off-site connection"... Not really AG's problem.

I realize that, and by quitting AG I don't get any more bad off-site connections.
For the mods, I am not sure if you got the fact that most, if not all is currently troubled with exams

I have gotten the fact, but taking 3 minutes to lock a few spammy threads every once in a while isn't something that should be hard.

intended, and guilty.

Well Thoad...I don't care if this post is spam to the mods...But...thank you for making AG a good place while you were here...

May the Great Mcneely save us from the horrific AP tricksters and milkers. Or thread stupidity.

intended, and guilty.

Still...it's their choice to go an spoil a rather poignant farewell. Don't blame it on the thread, blame it on them.

I feel sorry for not getting to know you =/

I see only point enough in answering this:

I have gotten the fact, but taking 3 minutes to lock a few spammy threads every once in a while isn't something that should be hard.

Obviously you're not a mod, so you don't know how it goes. Well here's how it goes: it takes 3 minutes to reply to a thread yes. 3 minutes to lock a single thread. Why three minutes for a thread? Because I take the effort to explain why a thread is being locked. Why is this? Because if I don't, people complain. And in fact I do this and people still complain.

Furthermore, you lock one, you'll have to lock many. Therefore I'm not dealing with spam now, I'm only dealing with urgent "this guy is running amok, he needs banning right now" cases and believe it or not, it's easy to get several of those on any given day. If people feel that they can still send me threads to lock because they're bored or figure that it's fun to get moderators to do stuff or because "one more can't be hard", and many do this, then in the interest of fairness I have to say no to all of you.

That is all. Now go and blow your steam somewhere else until you're cool enough to come back, which I'd be willing to bet you would anyway.
