*Dragon Cave is an adoptable site, with dragons.

*Only use this thread for posting your eggs, not other threads, as that is egg spam, and will result in the entire link being censored.

*Only post your egg ONCE. Only post your hatchlings ONCE. Basically to prevent spam. Instead post your incubator (more about that later)
**ER eggs and hatchlings can be posted more than once, if the owner wants help with saving them.

*Try to keep your posts long(er). Just posting the egg will result in the post being deleted.
**Engaging in discussions about DC, eggs and dragons is highly recommended.

*Do NOT post your eggs or hatchlings with the words "Please click it or it will die!!!1!!!one". It is greatly discouraged.
**Also, it says more about you than about us, if you egg/hatchling dies. Follow the guide, and you will be better off.

*Do not ask about the species of the dragon. And do not answer people asking, they will have to find out themselves.
**This is usually only when it comes to eggs. "What will this be", "how does -breed- eggs look like" and so on.

-------------------
DC Forums and DC Forums FAQ for general questions.

*In general 700/300/10 would be okay to get an egg to hatch.
**Clicks are in general not needed as much, so an egg would still be able to hatch with 700/300/2
***An egg will not hatch before 3 day 23 hours or later.

*Hatchlings grow up with 1000/600 as an average.
**same time as the eggs.

Hatcheries:
Daily Dragon Fix and its mirrorsite Thorngale
DCF Hatchery and DCF Daycare
Sotidragon

Other can be foun here: Dragcave fansite subforum
Or here: Other Places To Post Dragons, (So You Don't Have To Spam Here)

ER:
DCF ER
ER are used if the egg/hatchling goes under 3 days.

Put them there, instead of relying on views on the thread.
------------------------

The code used should look like this:
[ url= link ] [ img ] Link to image [ /img ] [ /url ] without the spaces.
It can be found by going to the "Get Code" page.

Dragon actions:

Egg:
Kill: If you reallyreallyreally do not want the egg, and you do not want other to have it either.
Abandon: Better to use than kill. Caveborns can only be abandoned after a 5 hour wait after picking it up from the cave.
Hide: Used if the egg is sick to prevent it from being viewed.

Hatchling:
Kill: Again, abandon is better.
Freeze: To prevent the hatchling from becoming an adult. Cannot be reversed.
Name: Give the Hatchling a name. And better be creative, many names are already taken.

Abandon: If you do not want the hatchling, use this.
Hide: If the hatchling is ill, use this to hide it, preventing it from getting viewed.

Frozen Hatchling:
Kill: NOOOOOOO!!
Release: And you might see it in the wilderness.
Describe: Give the hatchling a describtion. This have to fit the guidelines found on the DC Forums.

Adult:
Kill: You meanie!!
Release: And see it fly towards the sunset. Never to be seen again, unless you travel to the wilderness often.
Name: Nameplz.
Describe: Who is your dragon, how does it act, and so on.
Breed: Breed your dragon with another dragon. Some breeds cannot breed with other dragons. It will take 7 days from the dragon is bred until it can be bred again.

----------

Name: Sorting by the name A-Z.
Growth (Egg, Hatchling, Adult): Sorting by the growth of the dragon.
Breed: Sorting by breed, by name of breed.
Custom: You can sort your dragons by dragging them up and down the list.

Reverse sort: Does not work on custom sorting.
Display Username: Check this, if you want your scroll name displayed on your dragons' page.
Accept aid: If you are sure you can handle it all by yourself, then do not check this. Otherwise it gives permission to other people to help your dragon, if it is dying.

Show Adults: Uncheck this, if you do not want your adults to be shown.
Hide Duplicates: Check this, if you only want to show off the different sprites.

Tile size: How big should the tiles on the incubator be.
Incubator size: How big should the incubator be.
Uploading: The first means you will have to upload the image yourself, the three others will upload the image to a site, and give you the code to use in the thread.

Also: DCForum tutorial to incubators
Note: The incubator does not update by itself in most situations (see tutorial for more info).

Egg and hatchling sickness:
An egg or hatchling will become sick, if it gain too many views too fast. This can be cured by hiding the egg/hatchling using the hide action, and unhide it when it is no longer sick.
Se this: Soft Shell and Sick Hatchling Guide, A guide to the dreaded sicknesses for more info.

Words:
Caveborn: CB. An egg picked up from the front page, as a mystery egg. Does not have a lineage.
Bred egg: Bred by using the breed option on the adult action page. Has a lineage. Picked up from the AP.
Cave: Main page, where mystery eggs are found. Also the DC site itself.
AP: Abandoned page. Where bred eggs and abandoned eggs are found. Occasionally a hatchling or two. Most eggs here have a lineage, though CB eggs can be picked up here as well.
Mystery egg: Dark grey egg with a red question mark on, and the describtion of the real egg beneath.
Held egg: Bred from your dragons in a clutch of more than one. Since only one can be kept, you will have to choose from the held eggs, choosing the egg to be kept by clicking the "Get Code" link. If no egg have been chosen after an hour, all eggs will be abandoned.

Sorry for the double post. Are sunset (or rise, the blue and red one) breed onlys? Or do they just have the same description that the other has?

Does anyone know a rough estimate of how many clicks you need for a egg to hatch?

This one?

http://dragcave.net/image/FIm3.gif

(Hint: Click it to see if it's bred or if you can find them as caveborns. This way I avoid "spoiling". :P)

Also, interesting:

The sunrise hatched 12 hours before the sunset.

Clicks, not that many. It's more about views, though clicks definitely help a lot.
You can take a look at my scroll for some examples of hatchlings that are well out of their eggs.

For eggs its around about 500-600 views while hatchies usually need 1000-1100 views. But it varys. Also we need more people on here. I just found this on page 4 with the last post being 3 days ago. BTW any one have DC forums accounts? I do, roland7749 (NOOOOOOO) I, myself, am mostly on the game page.

just go to dragcave.net, there some links on the first post (Please read the rules) and there you make an account and take an egg from the main screen. After you get it you also get a code, you paste this code on to sites or use the second code to make it so a picture of the egg/dragon appears as a link. They need clicks and views for them to survive and when they become adults they no longer need them. There are some sites that help out alot on the first page as well.

I'm Zophia there too. I'm not active, though. One forum is enough for me. @_@
