In my time away I have made and improved my skills in art and gotten various CC and help from artists, before I left I wasn't very good it all, now I have a decent idea of depth, flow and lighting at first when I left I got into animating a bit more than anything else, then I was into GIMP, which I hate and then Illustrator and I later moved onto photoshop which is my main interest at the current moment in time, in about one week I will be getting Photoshop CS4 Extended, anyways here are some of my pieces that I have made in my time away. (P.S. this isn't stolen art my name on photobucket is my name on another website, these are my works)
Animations (sorry if they are slow It is because of the upload, I also apologize for the dots, .gif files don't like gradients, they are faster on my computer, a lot faster)
I have some more but I think I have shown enough, thanks for looking! Now, back to where I came, your free to look but please don't take my work and claim it for your own because I have proofs on my computer, if you are to take my work please give me credit for it, thanks! (Strop, your still better than me, niiiiiiiceee)
I'm making them appear. I just really want to see them.
Eye of the storm Silhouette Inuyasha (not my best, not a fan of this one really) This one is an album cover for my band Transformers Various requests I have done for people, they give me a specific render and I make it into a pop out signature or banner. Dragon ball Z not a fan of this one. Iron Man Spider Man Angels Options one and two Another request, this one was a bad render for me to work with, it turned out okay. I hated doing this request, (I want some gears wiith fire in the background...."What?!?" Gundam Wing (kind of blurry, turned out pretty nice though) Request for a thread on the current website I'm on One of my favorites I like this one a lot This one was a weird request...so I just slapped on a weird C4D Another request, I cannot believe the person wanted another person as the background... -.- Afro samurai That's all for the requests. Animations (sorry if they are slow It is because of the upload, I also apologize for the dots, .gif files don't like gradients, they are faster on my computer, a lot faster) Kirby Another Iron Man
This was one of my first pieces when I left
Weird signature of some of the greatest guitarists of all time.
A little art done with a program called Stykz (the equivalent of pivot)
That's a lot of images. I'm gonna say exactly what I said in the other sig thread:
You need to remember to write credits to the people whose artwork/renders you put in your sigs. Otherwise, technical art theft. (Art used without the authorization of the artists, as well as without giving credit to them.) In addition to that, if you want to post THAT many images in one post another time, PLEASE post links instead of the images. This page is lags when I try to scroll through it; I'm sure people with slow connections could get timeouts due to the amount of images.
Sorry for so many images Zoph, anyways yes it was their original image but it technically isn't theft if I take specific things out of those images and make it into my own art, you also most likely haven't noticed that I do change that lighting and coloration in a majority of my images, that is why I don't need to give credit because it is only 1 specific piece of another artwork that I add to my own piece, for example a collage of things that you like, you take a lot of images throughout the web, cut then out change the lighting do blurring and add filters and it is your work by the time you are completed in doing so, the original stock that I used is that persons art but I don't need to give them credit if I use a small portion of that image, most of these pieces have taken me about an hour or 2, so it just sort of proves the time I put into my work, I apologize again for the lagg.
yes it was their original image but it technically isn't theft if I take specific things out of those images and make it into my own art
This is EXACTLY what one kind of art theft is.
You are TAKING something from a picture someone else made, then claiming it to be your own.
That is art theft. It doesn't matter how much you edit it, how much you change the lighting, how many layers of effects you add, how many different pieces of pictures you add onto your 'collage'. Even a small piece of an image someone has made is STILL something they have made.
A collage is a work you have created using other creations, and you NEED to give credit to the people who made the pieces, because THEY ARE NOT YOURS.
And if you're using specific brush sets, you might need to give credit to the creators of those too.
Ahem: "It was not theft, I only took the car radio." "But, but, I only took the TV, the dvd, the stereo and all their jewelry, it wasn't theft!" "I changed the wallpaper on the computer, now it is mine!"
Thats not how I am trying to say it, it is different that way...because the mona lisa is in an art museum and is world renowned, a small little spiderman picture that has about 5000 copies of the same image on google images isn't extremely famous, it is nearly impossible to track the author of that...just because of the fact that 4999 were stolen, think about it, basically I take a part of that image and make it MY OWN art.
And Cenere that is a more serious situation, because that is like literally theft, that is a whole different concept, because someone actually purchased that radio, none purchased those images, I didn't see a copyright anywhere on these original images, so it isn't theft, I didn't know if it was copyrighted or not, I'm not going to take 5 hours to research one picture to see if it is copyrighted or not, millions of people use these images that I have used here in one day. They aren't stolen because if I stole it, than millions of people have stole it, it wasn't copyrighted it wasn't theft, and another thing, my art style is an actual style, people do these things, I suggest you check out Kongregate if you want specific proof. Other than that I can't prove anything accept for the fact that this is my work. You have your opinion I have mine.
Okay. 1) If everyone does it, it is okay. 2) If there is no copyright anywhere it to be seen, it is okay. 3) Simply posting the website/link to the image is too much a trouble, and thus it is okay to not do it.
People steal copyrighted and otherwise materials and items every day. Not, I think I will go to the grocery store and steal something there, because everyone else does it. Listen, I do not throw a big thick watermark on my drawings, so seemingly it is okay to use my art, and your art for that matter.
And at least half of all pictures out there is done for money, thus being purchased. Commissions, advertisement, posters, spiderman-image-from-dvd... It is all items that has been purchased one way or another.
The difference of those situations are not the point. The similarity is. And the similarity is that NEITHER OF THOSE ARE YOURS. You can not just take something that is not yours, change it a little, and claim the result is all yours.
And Cenere that is a more serious situation, because that is like literally theft, that is a whole different concept, because someone actually purchased that radio, none purchased those images,
The images belongs to someone else. As would the things in Cenere's examples. They belong to someone else, so you do not have the right to just take them and do with them as you please. You can not use the argument that no one has purchased the images; with art, the copyright (owner of the rights to copy/redistribute the artwork) is what matters. It is ownership, not what you've paid that is relevant to cases of theft.
I didn't see a copyright anywhere on these original images, so it isn't theft, I didn't know if it was copyrighted or not, I'm not going to take 5 hours to research one picture to see if it is copyrighted or not
If an image is on the internet, is was put there by someone. Assume all images are copyrighted to someone.
It is still theft when you claim it to be your own work without giving any credit. If you give credit (posting a link to where you found the images you use is usually enough, unless you're trying to commercially use pictures that are copyrighted (this would include signatures if you get paid for making them)).
They aren't stolen because if I stole it, than millions of people have stole it
That a million people do it does not make it right, nor legal.
my art style is an actual style, people do these things, I suggest you check out Kongregate if you want specific proof
I'm not questioning that. I'm just firmly stating that you cannot post your work on here if you do not give credit fir the images you use.
Other than that I can't prove anything accept for the fact that this is my work. You have your opinion I have mine.
It IS your work. That is not the problem here. The problem is that WITHIN your work is the work of someone else, and they need to be credited if you want you images on here.
You have your opinion, I have copyright laws and site policy. If you do not see that you need to give credit to the creators of the images and continue to claim them as your own, you can get banned for art theft.
Cough Besides that, last point from me, no need to kick and scream about it anyway: When an artist draw fanart of another person' character, he or she would still put in the (C) owner, because, even though the art is theirs, the character is not.
a small little spiderman picture that has about 5000 copies of the same image on google images isn't extremely famous
It doesn't matter how famous something is or how good something looks. You can make a stickman with a spider man mask and get fined more than you'll ever see because you STOLE some one's LEGALLY PROTECTED WORK (and in this case, a registered trademark, add a couple mil to you fine) You best be looking up and researching how art and images are protected and what rights you have and do not have. If you're going to continue to design, it is crucial that you obey these critical laws.
I didn't see a copyright anywhere on these original images, so it isn't theft
Anything created by a person (physical, not mental) belongs to that person until they state otherwise. You can draw a smiley face on the napkin next to you and you will instantly own all the rights to it.
