Okay the general Sterotype of Male Cheerleaders is usually: There gay.
But I speak the truth.
Cheerleading is hard, very hard. I use to start at football and after I got done with powder-puff cheerleading, I was begging people for money to get a water, then convincing said people to walk to the stands and buy it for me.
Also before I did that, I believed Cheer wasn't a sport and anyone could do it.
Boy was I wrong. I nearly broke my neck being a backspotter, I got KO'ed that same practice.
So I guess the question is..
Do you think Cheerleading is a sport?
(I didn't think this belonged in Debate area because it isn't serious enough for the debate section, and it's about sports.)

There gay.

Most definitely not! Most guys that try out for cheerleading are as straight as a pencil. Think of all the things you can do in cheerleading if you are a guy.

I know. And yes to the second part.
I know most aren't gay, and I used to make fun of male cheerleaders before hand but after doing that then being told that was just level one. I have never made fun of male cheerleaders again (Also most could probably beat the bejeezus out of people)

Yes. It's a very demanding sport for flexibility and upper body strength. Their is also competitive competitions for it so that seals the deal on cheerleading being a sport. Also, if your a male cheerleader, your the opposite of gay. You have an ocean of girls with very few male fishes in that ocean so you can really find a girlfriend here.

Those are the straightest guys ever. It is very demanding so I'd say its a sport.

I wouldn't call it a sport because it's not competitive in nature.

Go on youtube and Look up Cheer Competion.
They are very competive. They spend months perfecting that one routine. It's extremly competive they have to top the other squads in EVERYTHING.

cheerleading is the sport that has the most injuries and even death rates for the past like ten years or something... i saw it on sports science... i think most people see the non competition cheerleaders at high school and think that is how they all are... real cheer is a mix of dancing, gymnastics, and lifting.... if that isnt a sport than i dont know what is.... and people thinking that all the males are gay... that is rediculous if i could go back to high school i would love to hold up and hang out with those hotties crap

Yes but the nature of cheerleading is to entertain, not to compete.

maybe it started out to maybe not entertain rather than help *CHEER* for a team and get the fans into it but now it is certainly a competition sport as well as just being recreational cheering.... look at any sport they all started to entertain either you or someone else and then got to a competitive state.... you cant deny that

Cheerleading actually does count as a sport. In fact, being a cheerleader could get you a college scholarship.
