The game Gemcraft Zero is ruined because of the haunting thought of being forced to listen to constant commercial. Not just at the start of the game, which would be fine. But after every.... single.... battle of every... single.... level! CMON! Please, no more. The audio is running into and overlapping with the game sounds. Even if you click off the ad screen to play the next level, they are still talking as the new level is being played. I dont mind ads so much, to have to sit through one before each game would be fine, but in Gemcraft its out of control.
I realize they help pay the bills and are part of all our lives whether we want them or not. But too much is not cool. Citibank should be paying you zillions of dollars to have their ad run every 5 minutes times every person playing the game. Is there any way to tone it down?
Specifically, what Dudeguy means is that AG runs on the cash they get from displaying ads on their site. No ads, no cash flow, no AG. Which would also mean no Gemcraft, though it's available on other sites =/
So bear with it, if not go play it on some other site =/
Hit the mute button, or perhaps get ad-blocker though it may not be able to block those ads. I don't have a problem with this, since I don't turn on the speakers while playing Gemcraft.

Citibank is Citibank, AG is AG. My Philosophy teacher would scream at me for drawing such an analogy. Fallacious.
You can't always have your cake and eat it can you?
Like i said in my first post, i realize the importance of ads. I dont need a lecture about what they do when i already clearly said i know.
Im not talking about regular ads or pop ups. Im talking about ones with AUDIO playing over and over and over and over each time you complete a level. Its too much. At the start of a game, ok, but after each battle? NOT OK! Ive played Gemcraft in the past and this just started 2 weeks ago. So it isnt something that was needed at all. The site and the game ran just fine and dandy without AUDIO ads a couple weeks ago. And they wouldnt be so bad if you had to listen to it once. For instance in the game Cargo Bridge, when you start the game you get the audio ad. Fine. No problem. But each time i complete a level i dont have to listen to the same ad over again. It should be like this with Gemcraft too. Play a ad at the start of the game, then end it already.
And there is no way to mute it. So you cant simply hit a mute button like youre suggesting. And i use Firefox with AdBlocker. It doesnt work. The ad still plays even when you start the next battle.
Yeah, yeah i know theres other sites to play on. But the point of putting ads on a website isnt to drive people away. And when you overload people with the exact same ad every 5 minutes, thats what can happen. This forum is for suggestions for THIS site. And im suggesting to tone down the ads in the game gemcraft only. Its overkill. The rest of the games are fine with ads.
Hey, I totally agree with Cyc2u on this one. Bombarding a user with ads is just not acceptable. Like Cyc2u said... If it plays an audio ad or 30-60 second commercial at the beginning before you can play that is one thing but jamming ads down your throat in between each level tends to get frustrating and is down right unnecessary. If I was going to click the ad to buy something or take a look, I would have done it the first time.
Well i think you can fix in if you have the newest version of windows. Just go to your volume settins and go to mixer. It has a thing for everything thats open. Just mute the ad.
Then add those ads to your filter as you encounter them. I just played a level of GemCraft Chapter 0 to check, my filter is blocking every single ad displayed within the game. I'd never have known there was ads in it if it wasn't for this thread. o.o
Fix your ad filter if you dislike the ads. Though I do agree, audio ads can be a pain in the toe.
The ads arent really a hassle to me, I mean they aren't even audio....its just a video that plays while it gives you your stats from the level. There is no problem with the ads.
