Pokemon is so repetitive but it's addictive. I used to play it for HOURS even though it's the same thing over and over again. I guess that's why its so successful - it manages to grab and hold players' attentions.
the first ones like red blue and yellow were fun but they were only for the gameboy so it kinda sucked. silver/gold/crystal were my favs cuz there weren't to many pokemon and better graphics. but i dont like how the makers of pokemon always throw in those legendary ones that you can only get in japan at nintendo events. im a person who likes to collect and the fact that you have to go to some weird nerdy event just to get monsters like mew and otheres isn't fair. Thats why i stopped playing them. and because the new ones have like 490 and its impossible to get them all without cheatin.
Generation 1 was, not surprisingly, very original. Since it started it all, I can't say anything about it.
2 was the best of them all. I love the new Pokemon there, but I'm not such a big fan of the region. I can't wait for the newer remakes called HeartGold & SoulSilver. I am going to get HeartGold. I grew up with Gold since it was my 2nd Pokemon game, the 1st being Blue. Anyway, the Gym Leaders aren't that good, featuring the only 1st gym WITHOUT rock Pokemon. On the other hand, it has an awesome feature; to be able to access 2 regions, Kanto and Johto. This makes it very fun. Also, 2 new types were introduced in Johto, being Steel and Dark. Even though not many new Pokemon were introduced, it is still my favorite Generation to this day. Onwards to Generation 3!
Generation 3 had many, and I repeat, many more Pokemon. These were good, but not as good as the previous ones. The region is pretty nice. It's gotten much better graphics since generation 2, and it's got much more moves! I liked this region, but the legendaries were kinda boring. Some unoriginal Pokemon were released in this generation including Taillow and Salamence. Those weren't so great. Overall, it is a pretty good generation!
Now it's time for the newer one, Generation 4. The Pokemon were crap. They are totally losing ideas. Although, the story line and region is great! Much better than the other games. More attacks were added such as X-Scissors and Tailwind. That's all I can say about this generation.
Well, that sums it up perfectly. Generation 1 was great, 2 was awesome, 3 was pretty good and 4 was kinda bad...
