We christians assume the Bible is the word of god. If it is the word of god, then it must be correct. If we don't support/follow these verses, then we're going to hell according to the bible. If we don't support these verses, we don't believe the Bible is the word of God. If it is not the word of God, it is not correct. If it is not correct, Jesus was wrong. If jesus was wrong then he was not a prophet. If he was not a prophet, then our religion is false.
If our religion is false then we're just atheists! ATHEISTS!!!!

I have to say it I am not a huge religion fan, but that isn't the word of God that's just the word of priests. If they could they would keep the people ignorant so that they would follow all their decisions without questioning them.
Not everyone in the united states in christian/catholic/jewish. Those religons share the same god, but those arent the only religions in the U.S. So you can't do say that.

The Bible was not written by God, it was written by people inspired by God (in Christian beliefs, that is). They were bound to let their stereotypes of the time get involved when writing it, so this doesn't really prove anything.
