i think that england have the best players in the mid, but i do not think that the chemistry is there like it is with other teams...

i think as far as being a person traveling there from another country it could be a great experience... yes we all know it is not the best of places but i just hope that this wonderful event might over power the idiots thinking... long shot... and yes who ever started the horn sucks why cant you just watch and cheer and sing?
yes... and the fact that this is in my eyes other than the olympics the biggest sporting event in the history of sports

They've had 8 years to prepare. The recent Lions tour was a debacle. Hundreds of fans got robbed, as well as the hotels of the players themselves. The same happened to the football players and fans at the Confederation Cup.

I have a brother there, and have visited him numerous times. The whie folk live up in gated communities with swimming pools, whilst round the corner the majority black population live in shanty towns. I came close to being stabbed by a machete. Trust me, even for large groups of football fans, wandering the streets is extremely dangerous, these guys kill people for fun. In addition, it's not the minority who commit these crimes, but a substantial percentage of the population. There's so much poverty, so many living in shacks with no food or water; mugging is a full time job to survive. All these rich Europeans flocking to South Africa is like Christmas to them, and I don't think the South African authorities are going to have a handle on it.
what you are saying isnt wrong at all firefly... im just trying to look at the bright side and focus on the football... if i had my way it would be in england or italy, and then i would be able to stay with family and as you understand not fear for my life... the fact is that it is not going to be there and we have no control over the inbred idiots and thugs...
I also hope the football is what's focused on, not the crime, but sadly, I just don't think that's going to happen.

Sorry for double pasting, but I have to said that crime isn't the biggest problem in South Africa, it's prostitution ( I don't know if this has to be censored). Because of AIDS with up to 31% of pregnant women found to be HIV infected in 2005 and the infection rate among adults estimated at 20%.
The best midfield is probably Spain... the list of players goumas posted show the standard of players they have available. THey have the technique and the creativity. not that I'm biased but.... England do have good midfield players (though they don't necesarrily work well together they are great individuals) Gerrard is amazinf, Lampard has his moments, I'm a huge fan of Lennon, despise Bentley (his quality had decreased and he has hardly played for Tottenham)
Sweden's midfield isn't bad they have Kallstrom, Sebastian Larsson and Christian Wilhelmsson. they also have a good keeper Andreas Isaksson, good defenders Mellberg, Nilsson and they have a good striker rosenberg. Also one of the best footballers is swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic. So overall they have a good team.
