Also, I have seen a lot of negativity to Christains and Atheists. Understand, most Christains don't bash atheists and most atheists don't bash religion. The few who do bash each other are the main ones who post here. So be carefull with what you type. Not everyone is trying to pick a fight.
people ,like myself, believe in god because we think of him as a creator and a guardian. even though i don't believe in creationism i still believe in god. but I've had my doubts about god before. But each time he shows me an example of his work. like when i was a camp and i hadn't been home for 3 weeks and i reallllly home sick and headed for a nervous breakdown i prayed to him and he got me through the week until i could go home
But what I'm saying is you arguing with them is equally foolish because you know that no matter how badly you prove that they have nothing to back themselves up they keep coming back anyway. So knowing they wont back down makes you just as vital to the whole "circle jerk" effect as they are. Yet you're trying to take the higher ground so to speak. If you really want to show you're above them then just ask for the evidence and don't reply if they just repeat themselves, that's the point I'm making.
Or it could just be that I'm occasionally bored out of my skull & I come here to post for some small measure of entertainment. If you're trying to convince me to go away, it's destined to fail; no offense.
No, I'm simply saying that you can't try and act like you're the bigger person when you're fueling it equally.
You say fueling as if I was just coming here and yelling at the top of my lungs with no point to it, or just trolling. I am doing neither of those things. Either the same people come up with different points to argue against atheism, or new people who haven't bothered reading the rest of the posts come & decide to post something; I'll respond because I feel like it.
As for this idea of being 'bigger' or 'better' then other people.. this is a forum. It's why we're here. If you can't understand that, maybe you're the one that should stop posting.
People be calm Xavier come on now I'm a christian to (well i think you are) but I mean the total of number of people argued into Christianity is like two. Obviously an atheist won't except most religious arguments because they are all based on the fact that there is a God. And same goes for the other way around Atheists arguments are all based on the fact there isn't a God this is all about how you interpret things.
You're not meant to come to a forum to act like you're better than the other people you're posting to. It's to have discussions and enjoying yourself. You know that there is no proof of god any human being has. SO you know there will never be a rebutal to your point in this thread. Yet you still reply the same points to the same people that wont listen. That makes you equally responsible for fueling this. I'm gonna stop unless you say something along different lines as to not become a hypocrite but I'm sure you know what I'm saying, whether you post that way or not.

Your powers of perception are.. less then impressive. I'm going to argue my point (whatever that point happens to be in a given topic, be it one that I hold myself or one that I'm arguing as a devil's advocate) to the best of my ability, and have confidence in my own arguments. I'm not going to doubt myself, or portray myself as unsure or inferior. If someone can't handle being on the other end of it - that's their issue.
It's to have discussions and enjoying yourself.
I'm doing both of those things.
You know that there is no proof of god any human being has.
I'm pretty sure.
SO you know there will never be a rebutal to your point in this thread.
You are mistaken again. I'm actually really hoping someone would come up with an argument I'd never heard before - then it becomes far more interesting.

Well, if they're going to use the same argument over & over again, I'll wind up using the same counter-argument. It was effective the first time I used it, and if they don't have anything else to bring to the table, it will be effective again.
I'm gonna stop unless you say something along different lines as to not become a hypocrite but I'm sure you know what I'm saying, whether you post that way or not.
I have no idea why you're blathering on about this. It's off-topic, it serves no point, and you have no understanding of my motivation. Hypocrite? When have I said anything contradictory? You are clueless mate.
I said I don't want to be a hypocrite by also being in something that just goes around and around. But being confident in your point and talking to everybody else like they are below you and you're frustrated to have to explain your point to us insignificant morons isn't the same thing.

It's a debate strategy. Always talk to your opponent as if they're wrong to begin with. If they're correct, you can always respectfully concede the point.
And just to point out... I don't get frustrated over an internet forum.
Hmmm, fair enough. It seems like over kill to me. Look at how we're talking in the illegals thread and then when this one's about a topic you're destined to win anyway you bring out the aggressive tactics... I don't get it.

It's likely where I find my own success. If I face a more difficult opponent, I find I improve more quickly - in anything, games, networking issues, and debate. When faced with better arguments, I find I stand more to learn, both about the subject & about how to argue. I *want* to be challenged, because that holds the greatest amount of interest for me.
It's why I'm posting in the border dispute topic. It's not something I'm passionate about; I live in Canada - Mexicans migrating to the U.S.A. has little impact on me =P However - if I challenge your view, and critique it, my thought lies in the possibility of coming up with something that stands up to more.. abuse, and from more people as it were =) If it doesn't, then it maybe wasn't a great idea - but if the idea is strong enough to resist repeated assault, then you have something solid.
And here I was thinking you were just a complete ass. But then I was talking to you in other threads and started to think maybe some kind of split personality... Anywho, glad we've cleared that up.
