I understand that pu-la is slang for penis in Russian (I think). In any case, I see no reason why it should be censored. The forums are all English anyway.

To take this a bit further, if we start censoring foreign curse words, where do we draw the line? If all swear words from all languages were censored, there'd barely be a string of letters that would be allowed.
Yes but it is hard to do that. It is why S****horpe is censored and Chalres ****ens. I don; think you can censor only stand alone sords like that.
I have seen it on other forums where that is possible. In the admin control panel you can change it so that if a swear word is within another word it won't be censored (ie: as in popular). However this forum was designed especially for Armor Games so I doubt there is an option to do that.

There's probably some way to check things like $left and $right, so if the space behind the censored word or ahead ot it is a space, " ", censor it, because it's alone, else, don't censor, because it's inside another word

Why penis and vagina isn't censored...
Most likely because &quotenis" is kinda hard to use in swearing.

"Go have intercourse with yourself, you're such a penis."

Swearing really gets ruined without slangs. And it's the same thing with the female register. You can say vagina, but not any of the "dirty" slangs.

Those words aren't bad. They're just alternative names. So why are they censored? Because they're used for name calling and as swear words.

Carlie (who does most of the censor fixes) is aware of &quotula" being censored inside other words and will most likely fix it. I'm not sure why Charles D's name still haven't been fixed. >_>

As for the "this is an English forum, foreign swear words shouldn't be censored" argument:
I completely agree; until it becomes an issue.
"Lul" isn't censored, because no one is using it to flame others with. Heck, if someone started calling people &quotandekage" (Danish for 'ancake', random word) when flaming and it spread enough to be offensive, that would probably need to be censored too.

And I never say lul, it's always lulz (unless I make a typo)... Ttly different.

Relocking thread now, because, well... It's being handled. Just write popular and population like you always have, I'm sure people will be able to see what you mean.

Grape, btw.
