It's not that black or white (excuse the pun). I neither love or hate him. I do really admire his earlier stuff though. Anyone who doesn't at least appreciate the magnitude of what he achieved, is messed up.
Despite him being a crazy mo-fo, I don't hate him. I believe his father's treatment of him when he was a kid is to blame. That doesn't absolve him of being a boy hungry pedo mind, just that I don't think it's fair to slam him for that.
