I think there should be a thing at the top of AG saying there are so many amount of users on right now!. and for games it can say how many views AG has ever had, total. I just think it would be a good way to show how popular we are. and maybe it would have people become more curious and sign up for AG. I'm just saying, and well I think it's a great idea

This would be a good idea. You should mention this to a mod. It would definitely be an attraction to AG for people that don't have a user already.

It was actually located at the bottom of the community page.

I remember that, it was in just about the middle of summer '08, am I right? But DiGiorno is talking about one at the top of the page, on the home page of Armor, so every visiting person could see it, but I have to ask, where the heck would it fit in?

it would help so much. i bet we would get even more new users everyday than we do now. but sometimes i think AG hacks itself. and says more users are joining than for real

AG hacks itself? >.< Where do you get this stuff??

There used to be a feature that would tell you who and how many people were browsing the forums at the bottom of the community page. However as mrtim said it was removed as with many other features during the optimization.

There are so many threads like this. I don't think people are brought in by that. Besides about 2/3 of the site is inactive. I got 1 AP and I was already past about 20,000 people.

Many people visit the site.

Yesterday 0.137% of global internet users visited AG. (source: alexa.com). It may not seem like a lot but think about how many internet users there are!

There are 1,581,571,589 internet users (source: wikipedia). That means 2,166,753 internet users visited AG yesterday. And there are only 200,000 something users.

Shayneii, this statistic was taking probably from how many times an AG link was brought up. Like everytime you go to a different thread, it counts as another visit to AG. Every profile counts as another visit, just as well as every game you play counts. AG does not necessarily "hack" itself. In the early days of AG there was another way to earn AP; by referring other people to the site. Usera abused this and made up other profiles for referal points. This was taken away, but left the many "fake" accounts behind. That is why AG has 200,000+ members, but only a small percent actually play.

Now for the users that are on AG at that moment, it was taken off for a bit while the site is developing. There should be some more updates in the near future, so some things were taken off to test the site speed. Now something on the front page could be interesting. It's a good idea, but I'm not sure how much work it would take to put a tab like that on the front page.

OHH! Thanks lol, I was wondering if that meant visits or actual page clicks. That makes more sense.

Those are called ghost accounts. If you see that they are inactive, (ie: they've been here for 6 months or more and they have no AP) then you can report them to a moderator (send them the link to their profile). Usually the mod will delete them so that other users can't spam on these ghost account pages.

The thing is they are so inactive how will we even find it? It's not like a name will pop into my head and say Oh I know an inactive member's name let me get to his profile and report it. AG should do a profile search for inactivity and delete all users who are inactive for over 6 monts.

Well, only Carlie can delete profiles, but even if there is a ghost account, you can't assume that it's a ghost account. If it is a real member, he/she might come back someday and wonder where his/her profile went! The ghost profiles also don't slow down the site or anything, and they don't bother anyone unless they are used to spam on. If this is so, THEN you should report it to me or another moderator
