I think if you do something bad. Spam, offensive language, or hacking and anything else u should get black marks or demerits. Black marks and demerits would show what level of danger you are in of being banned, muted, and other things.
Like for example.. say i have 10 black marks. then i am in the danger zone or something or like medium.. and it would show on your control panel. you have ladada amount of blk marks or dermits.. i think it's a good idea. other sites use em. like runescape i used to play it. and it got me muted once.
Well, different amounts of badness are more serious than others. I think a mod could simply warn someone that they are doing something wrong as a warning, and if they did not follow they would be banned. Sometimes second chances aren't even issued. It's a good idea, but not needed with the turmoil we're in right now.
Well, with the way the updates are coming and the glitches that needed to be fixed, I don't think they have the time to implement this. The way that works now works fine.
i know. ha. alright this thread is done we need a mod. come lock it now...
Suggestion: Instead of posting here in which there's not a high chance they'll see it, directly contact a mod through their profile and give them the link and reason for lock.
However, I am not sure about this, but I think the mods could/should have something similar to this, so they can see how many times a user has been warned (just in case the user deletes the warning comment), but I am not sure if the mods/admins already has that feature.
Well, if the user didn't mean to spam, they would fix it. Problem is, there should be a way to lose yourself a demerit by not spamming for a short amount of time. All this option does is give the mods more work, really.
This has been suggested before. The problem with that, is that it's not other users' business to know how bad another member is. We moderators know which members have been warned using our own methods, so this wouldn't exactly benefit mods.
I think it's fine how it is. It would kind of suck to triple post on accident, not catch it, then come back and have some type of marking saying you spammed.

It would benefit the users thought to know how bad they been.
I think this is a great idea. I know AG isn't going to do it because there to lazy to update there site (sorry it's true)
It isn't your business anyway. The only people who need to know are moderators.
Mmmm, I disagree. EXAMPLE: I had a dude cuss me out on my profile once and I had to go through this LONG stage, delete comment, reload page, delete comment, reload page, etc. None of that would of happened if I didn't talk to him in the first place. The only way to know not to talk to him, is to see his demerits and say to yourself "Bad bad person." and walk away. Also demerits would be kind of a good punishment because everyone in the AG community will see how bad they have been and the user with the demerits would feel oh so ashamed.

I think you pretty much just stated the problem yourself. Now, lets imagine I spammed a lot when I was a newbie, but after a long talk with the mods, and a huge amount of demerits and black marks I got better. Now, if you go look at my profile, you would see the amount of black marks, and would see me as a bad person, even though it happened more than half a year ago. The same would happen if the bans were visible to everyone. There is a reason why the bans are not visible, as you know, and one of these are to prevent people getting flammed for being a (former) spammer, advertiser or flamer. This system would just make it "more acceptable" to judge by the cover. If you really want something to judge from, go look at the comments the person receives, the posts they make or the game comments, before you make any comment contact to them.
