Sweet. I agree it is kind of ugly. And the reason it doesn't change URLs is because it doesn't go to a different webpage each time you click on something.
I think that's what's making it run quite faster.
I'm not entirely sure how they did this... lol, and I'm still wondering why they haven't really publicized it for people who don't have very good eyes (the XL part of it), and for people watching on their PS3, etc.
But, there is a problem with that, I think with a single webpage the back button would just take me back to the last "Other" site I was on, but it does not on this...Which is why I found it confusing.
It'll probably be an energy efficient version of Youtube, Just like how Google made Blackle
it doesn't go to a different webpage

If I'm not mistaken there are buttons when you hover over the video to pause go back to the previous video and to the next video, but I could always be wrong.
Well, it's faster then the original. True, you can't leave or see comments, but people generally say the most retarded things on YouTube anyway, so they're not worth reading. Besides, I'm there to watch a video - if I wanted to know what someone thought about something I'd go to an internet forum.
As for the change in look? Personally I like it, but if you have the video fullscreen you're not going to notice anyway.
It may be ugly, but it is a lot easier to navigate, and it actually has a better search bar. It used to search for videos based on the tags , then the names; now it searches for the names, then the tags.
I'm used to "old style" Youtube and wouldn't like to change it. Like with those new accounts, they look ugly as well and I find them confusing, although I haven't payed much attention to what's new with them but I still won't transform my account.
