because i was looking on a profile, and this guy had 4 armorpoints. he was ranked 70,000th or something....out of 279,554...

AG comes up second on Google search when you search "flash games" (Last I checked), so obviously there are going to be a lot of accounts. Will most of the people know what to do with their accounts? No.
So that shows we're pretty popular. But of course if you add Miniclip or Newgrounds, they get a ton more. They've been around for longer. About the profiles, some people make one then just don't use it. I do that on sites sometimes.
For about the first 6 months I had an account, I had no AP so I would have been 1 of those. There are probably thousands of people who do this because they thought people with accounts got extra games or something. I'm guessing a few of the accounts only joined to submit a game.
Green12324 nice stats AG is one of the most popular free game websites, so 1000's play games here but only a minority joins and some of them aren't active.
Here is what Green12324 means by saying that Miniclip an Newgrounds get a lot more, Miniclip is way up there, I'm guessing cause of Club Penguin and a few other MMORPG games they host.
I changed the title to make it clearer. I had to look because I wondered what the OP meant by "files"...
...but yeah, the short answer is that in any online community, the vast majority of the registered users never register any activity. I remember signing up with Newgrounds a long long time ago, and even partially completing your profile was enough to put you in the top 1% of users.
In AG's case, a lot of users also only post in the Newcomers and Forum Games section, which, due to the unique coding of the site, do not register as activity because the posts there are not worth any AP points.
It most likely is people creating accounts on AG and then not using them. I made and account on Hallpass and Newgrounds. I rarely use my account on Newgrounds and I only visit Hallpass occasionally. I hate Newgrounds though.

I believe that the many, many accounts are made by people who forget that they have the account. They use the account for maybe a few days, without even rating and commenting on any games, or even posting in the forums. I haven't been here for long, but I know what happens to accounts made on sites like this. People forget their passwords, and doesn't want to make a new account. People who just play games here, not rating, commenting or posting in the forums - why would they use their account anyways? I really don't think the staff is "cheating" to make the site become even more popular.
Well, then you have to consider all the accounts made back when the refferal system was around. People made accounts for points. then they just sat there.
But no, Idoubt they would have nay thing to gain from that, becuse it would be a shallow victory.
