I've flagged some, but what's with all the recent spamming? Is the site under attack or something? Also, what is the policy for flagrant idiot posts that are there specifically for AP counts? If I see anyone post "kergsdg" on a game comments thread, I'll flag it for attention. Am I doing good there or just adding to the problem?
Flagging spam and flames is a good thing, but it often seems it only works, if more than one flags the comment. Often it helps to refresh the page a couple of times, flaging each time, or simply reporting it to a mod (Flagging reports to admins, not mods). If you see someone spamming a lot like that, you can also report the person doing so. Sadly there is a lack of mods these days, which means that spam in the game comments often is left unnoticed, because there is so much else for the mods to do.
Ahh, perhaps its time to install a new category of mods like "spam busters" or something of the like, who also respond to flags and specifically are there to report guys directly to admins for spanking. Back in my hey-day of forum administration I used to have a phpBB mod that created such a group and even have their suggestions appear in a list inside the admin control panel. If I had the time or energy to do it, I write you guys up a suggested mod, but those days are behind me now.
It still bugs me when spam bots mess with sites that I like.

Just flag it... that's what I do whenever I see spam.
Though I agree I have seen a bit more spam, it's not anything major.
The one thing that is SO annoying is when other users fill up a page with "OMG that post is spam!" or "What was the point of that post?", that is also spam and has nothing to do with the topic.
You know, if the mods have the time, they can just pretty much sweep over any game and 50% of comments are spam comments.
When flagging, flag the especially hateful, or flaming comments against the games instead of flagging all the comments that are useless. Mods know that game comments are constantly being abused.
Flagging in the forums is more important methinks.
