I recieved this chain mail and it is extremely important. There are emails being sent that can kill your harddrive. It is the most dangerous virus!

Just verified this with Snopes and it is REAL. ALSO WENT TO TRUTH OR FICTION,IT'S on their site also.

&n bsp; PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE you know!

Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged ;are being sent and the moment that you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not be able to fix it!

1.) If you get an e-mail along the lines of 'Osama Bin Laden Captured' or 'Osama Hanged' , don't open the Attachment!!!!

This e-mail is being distributed through countries around the globe, but mainly in the US and Israel

Be considerate & send this warning to whomever you know.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS:

2.) You should be alert during the next few days:

Do not open any message with an attached file called 'Invitation' regardless of who sent it.

It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer!!!!

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should send this E-mail to all your contacts.

It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it

If you receive e-mail called 'invitation', even though sent by a friend. Do not open it!!! Shut down your computer immediately!!!!

This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified byMicrosoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus.

This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept

Not worried, usually I delete emails from unknown sources.

Just don't open emails that you don't know and you'll be fine.

I was wondering if there was a specific address that it came from (email address), so that I would go "Hey, that's from *----*, I wont open that. Or does it just make something random or take a name from your Address book?
In July 2004 a message claiming to offer links to photographs of Osama Bin Laden's suicide was spammed to multiple newsgroups. The links actually tricked users into opening a file that installed the Backdoor.Hacarmy.D trojan horse.

In June 2005, similarly-themed e-mail message claimed to offer images of the capture and arrest of Osama bin Laden scanned from news videos and collected in an attached ZIP file, but the attachment actually harbored a version of the Psyme Trojan.

Both trojans were easily detected and removed with updated virus protection software, and neither Osama message is circulating widely or poses much of a threat to PC users any more.
Not much of a threat to anyone anymore.

Probably a name of your address book. It has happened to me 20 times.
Good thing I have a good anti virus scanner.

Solution: Use Gmail.

I've never gotten anything like that since I started using it.

I still don't understand how anyone opens or takes these things seriously.

The best ones are when it's a hoax, and they tell you do search for some obscure file on your hard drive & delete it, because it's a virus!

All of a sudden, I.E. just stops working because *someone* deleted a critical system file. XD

They are obviously bluffing.

Anyways, it shouldn't be much of a problem in Canada.

Well, he did mention it would go out mostly in USA and Israel, although I do not know if this is just a bluff or is true.
