I propose that the original poster (such as myself in this case) have the ability to delete comments from the thread made by other members. In addition to this, I suggest a way to block people from posting in said threads. This would obviously reduce spam and the need for moderators every 2 seconds because you can't ignore the spam.
having control over your own thread would be very very convenient. You could delete those comments seen as spam and you can keep people who just want to act like bigots over something out of it
Well, I still think it would be too much power for the OP.
That sounded like a line from a movie, but simply if you ever have a discussion I can imagine too many original posters will delete those who disagree with them, and really I don't see why people get so up about spammers here, the closest thing I have seen to a spammer is myself
That would cause a ton of trouble. If someone doesn't agree with another persons views they'd delete the comment, thus starting a flame war. Like Firetail has said, we don't know if we can trust the OP. I wouldn't want some troll having power over anything.
