Yes indeed. I'm not sure if someone has already suggested this but I am. Let's say someone is getting on your nerves, being mean or spamming. Wouldn't it be a good idea if you had an Ignore option on your account. It would stop you from seeing their posts. That way if someone irritates you, you can just click the Ignore button instead of potentially getting into a fight with them.
Debating is fine. I call it arguing when it gets....let's say, heated. If someone gets so annoyed they use the Ignore Button, then it probably got heated. But if you like, think of it this way. Using the Ignore Button is like quitting the debate. They forfeit, so you win.
Is it not possible that I could use totally valid points and it gets heated, and both of us are posting completely valid things, and then one of us ignores the other
Well there's not really anything to do about that Bugvirus, sorry. But you saw what happened yesterday with Wannabe. I just think that an Ignore Button would be a good idea. And yeah, I guess that would be annoying, but nothing is perfect.
@dumteen. Don't do that again. That has nothing to do with the subject, and is spam. Spam is against the rules and will not be tolerated.
I say not all newbies should get the ignore button if it does get implemented. A certain amount of AP or time since they joined is required for getting this privilege, say.

I like that idea of ignore button, but u are right, about the newbies shouldn't have it...maybe silver squire. Around 450 AP. Maybe 500.
I don't really view it as a privilege. I view it more as a tool. I was thinking that if they abuse the tool though(ignore people who haven't done anything) they should get it taken away from them...that'd be a lot of work for mods though...yeah I like that idea of people with a certain amount of points getting the Ignore Button because people who have ranked up and haven't been banned/etc. are probably responsible enough to handle it.
But then think about how that would be in the hands of an irresponsible person like a spammer...mega-ultra bad. Like they just ignore everybody for no reason and so they can't hear when they tell them to stop spamming...this is a good tool, but in the wrong hands, well...
Hm... I wonder how we should know if users are abusing the feature?
Anyway, another thing is that if we have this feature implanted, the users are NOT allowed to ignore the mods and admins (whether or not they like it), more worse things could happen if this did happen.
Yeah you shouldn't be allowed to ignore mods or admins. I think we could probably tell if someone's abusing the Ignore Button by if they aren't responding to anyone. Or maybe we could have a feature like an Ignore List next to the Friends List? That way everyone can see who you're ignoring and if you're ignoring someone for no reason you get the Ignore Button removed. Or maybe when you click the Ignore Button there would be a list of reasons why and you'd have to click the one that matches with you(and be honest), so that people don't ignore people just because of some dumb reason.

The fact of the matter is this would not be used the majority of the time for these situations, but rather mostly for the situations I stated
This could be a good idea if you were a little more specific, what I think this could be used for is in threads, but only by the creator of that thread. This would be really use full in the forum games sections in games such as kill the wall, when some one is repeadedly saying stuff like "i kill everybody", and "I eat the wall killing it instantly" the tread leader would hit ignore and and posts of that person would be ignored, and any previous posts would be deleted. something like a "Ban" button for a thread I guess you could say.
