Per definition I am against getting anything you cannot afford yourself.
If you are able to pay the playing fee, the upgrades and all, and are willing to do so, you should tell your parents this. It will show you are willing to take the responsibility to pay for it yourself, and thus showing maturity to handle these things.
Otherwise, wait.

Wish for it for Christmas. That's what I always did.

Be thankful, that game sucks. You're dodging a major bullet.

You could have just said you don't like it like I did. There's no need to just out right abuse him. it's not like he did anything wrong...

Go up to them and Say this "OK check it out, Mom, pops I've been doing good you know, like doing all my chores and stuff and I just wanted to say PLEASE CAN I HAVE WORLD OF WARCRAFT? I'll clean my room and I'll clean the garage out Please Can I have it Please?" By doing that they can't say no

Do that if you're a chump. Find a random adult, abduct them and blind fold them and tie them to a chair. Beat the crap out of them and put them in your garage. Then hold a gun to their head and call your parents in. Then ask. Trust me, it'll work like a charm.

or you could do what i did .... Just tell thim that its a really good game and that you can lean from it (and its true) tell them all the good things about it .... if they are like my mom and dad then it will work, but i would ask the one parent that listens and gives you what you want most the time (that would be my mom) .... hope it works

those who judge the game to totally eat away your life are idiots, only 1 in 1000 people let the game take over their life, it's a little slimme then you think -.-

most people quit before they even get past level 20, i only quit cuz i lost the CD and my computer's files got eliminated.

:P

Tell them also all the wrong that you can learn from it...
When you wake up the morning and you turn on the computer just to see how your character is beautiful (true story)...
When your friends want to see you and you just prefer playing WoW because "if I miss this instance I wont be able to loot the deamon's +120 magical armor!"
When you live in your room for weeks, eating in front of your computer...
I've seen mates fucking up their studies because of this game, fucking up their relationships because they didn't want to miss an opportunity to win 30XP...
So go on! ask your parents to buy you this game...
I'm sorry to be rude, but this game can really be social suicide.

I've played it once, at a friends comp. It sucks, the only cool part is some weird death horse, and it's amazing to see how many losers that have no life play on that (The guy who's comp I played it on has no life either) that game is not a tween game, mid-teens mostly, but such a large game like that has hundreds of sexual predators, and just in the 15min's I played there were some very obscene things said. If you have no life, sure, play WOW, but if you want a life and want to get out of your mom's house by age 24, don't get into any MMORPG.

Sorry, but, like dunadan, a few of my friends teenage lives were completely ruined just cause of that game.

And I never said everyone, I just said it's surprising how many there are, which doesn't comment toward everyone.
