Hey has anyone here ever played guild wars? I found this game and am thinking about buying it and was wondering it would be worth it to buy. If I were to buy this I would buy the factions platinum version because I would want an assassin.

if your still wondering, buy this game i had and still have so much fun with it but i suggest: dont play the game alone if you know a friend who has the game it makes it better to play with someone else.

Another reason you should buy guild wars is that it reqires no monthly fee unlike some MMORPGs's eg. WOW.

any of the three (or expansion pack) is a great game but in my opinion "guild wars factions" the one with the assassain is too easy prophecies (normal "guild wars&quot or nightfall would be a better buy.

i would recommend that you buy this game but i would also recommend getting nightfall because of the the fact that it is the only stand alone one that has heros which are special npc that are better than the regular npc you play with normaly.

Hmmm. If you are going to buy it, later on this year they are doing Guild Wars 2 Beta I think. I played it for a good two years before quitting, it got boring for me. But I will give you a run down of all the games. Like others said, it doesn't require a monthly fee but unfortunately some of the people on the game can get very annoying. If you join, please put a message on my board and I may start again. I will also help you out because I have all 4 games.

Prophecies - Best learning curve. It slowly progresses and has some of the best missions. Personally I love the storyline. It is the most interesting and kind of sets the stage for the other three games. Also, it has some pretty good and rare farming places. It is set in a medieval type era, although I won't get into that because I don't want to ruin the storyline. I also like the armor in this one best, at least the Elite versions. Although I must say, it does go through the most areas. (Desert, Lush Medieval Area, Jungle, Snowy Mountains, and Volcanos)

Factions - This game has a very easy beginning, but as soon as you hit a certain level you go to the main land where it jumps up in level and difficulty. This one is very very short and takes only like a few days to complete. The good thing about this one is it comes with assassin and ritualist (Although I am not crazy about either of them because they modded the **** out of them) Now this also has faction which gets you awesome points and stuff. This is mainly set in an Asian area, like China or Japan.

Nightfall - This is also pretty easy in the beginning, but like Factions it just jumps from oober easy to oober hard. This game has the ABSOLUTE BEST class - Dervish. It also has some of the best farming areas and build. The only problem is the missions are extremely hard and boring. It also has some awesome rare items. However, this game also doesn't have a lot of people playing the missions which make it extremely hard. This game is based off of an African area.

Verdict: Naturally I like Prophecies, but now I also think Nightfall is good for newbies. If I had to rebuy a game, I would rebuy Prophecies.
