I have a 4 month old labrador retriver. I want to know what is a good dog food for him. He has no allergies. I saw products like Orijen and Taste of The Wild were good but i want more option. Please help. thanks
Sounds like you have one expensive pup. Considering that most dogs drink out of the toilet, many eat their own crap, and all eat raw meat; you might be good giving it a regular brand off the shelf. If your dog likes it, it will eat the food. If it doesn't, it will eat it eventually. If you want to give him something he likes, simply experiment.
If you want a healthy dog who will be fit and live a long time, don't worry about what kind of food you need to feed it. You need to worry about the kind of food you shouldn't feed it. Mostly greesy food, fried food, and (most definately) chocolate.
Ok, well my only advice is do not try the dog food to see which tastes the best. Becuse in reality, they all taste the same....dry, and nasty. it may show nice peices of meat on the bag, but it tastes nothing like the real deal!!!!!
And as was pouinted out by Flite? dog's drink out of the toilet, which is actually basically as clean as the water from the tap........but whatever.
So really, meat is actualy good for dogs. It makes them stronger, and for hunting dogs can be a very good thing to train them for smell.
Actually, I am doing some online research on raw meat diets for dogs. They say that raw meat is better for dogs than kibbles (dog food), which I always agreed. But it also states that dog food is in fact unhealthy for dogs! After reading, it all does make sense. Dog's were not built to digest plants. They can digest plants, but it makes their bodies work harder in doing so.
