I've seen a lot of people commenting Phage Wars 2 and saying its too hard, I myself think that it is waaaay too easy. The first game was definitely a lot harder. So, here's some tips and tricks to get you through the game.

- Gene Sequencing -

I'm sure a lot of people just run the experiments through and that's it, I'm sure that would make the game a lot harder (Hmm.. Maybe I'll try playing it through with no stat increases now, lol)

As you progress through the game you get different Genes to bolster your viruses stats.

- Virus Stats -

Pigment - Determines the color of your virus, doesn't affect it in any other way.
Speed - How quickly your virus moves.
Strength - Attacking strength of your virus
Agility - Not sure about this stat actually..
Defense - How strong your virus defends against attacking viruses.
Reproduction - How quickly your virus reproduces while in a cell.

- Genes -

Genes add (and subtract) from your Viruses stats.
Examples are agiY which gives AGI +1 and uses 500 points, hngY gives Speed +2, Strength +2, Agility -2 and Defense -2 and uses 2250 points. As you can see the larger Gene's use more Sequencer points to add (and subtract) from your Viruses stats.

Depending on your play style you will find some stats fit you better than others. Some will go for a slow hard hitting Virus, some might go for a quick one to grab up as many Cells as possible quickly and then chip away at your enemy's defenses with less but mass strength.

- Experiments -

Experiments are, well, the game. Your goal is to destroy all enemy Viruses.

Testing Areas -

Culture (Light)
Starting point, lies within a petri dish.

Culture (Dark)
Same as last area, but without lights.

Photophillic
Lies within water, there are cancerous cells.

Photophobic
Same as last area but in the dark.

Cyanobacteria
Lies within contaminated water, bacteria is swimming among the cells.

Plantae
Lies within plant roots, cells live within small water pockets, yes again there is bacteria.

Metazoa (Dead)
Lies within a dead animal, your interacting with red and white blood cells.

Metazoa (Live)
Lies within a living animal, your interacting with red and white blood cells.

- Cell Types -

Bacteria
When you attack using these cells your strength is higher.

Cancerous
Your virus reproduces much more quickly when in this cell.

Red Blood Cell
When moving/attacking from this cell you move at an increased rate.

White Blood Cell
When under control of this cell and you are attacked your defense is higher.

- Experiment Tips -

First thing you want to do in a level is send your Virus into as many cells as possible, this will give you a higher reproduction rate and gives you an advantage over the computers who never seem to spread out that quickly.

Sequence, sequence, oh did I mention sequence? Adding to your stats gives you a massive advantage, I found the end of the game to be much much easier as I had my Agility, Speed stats maxed and Strength was 3 points from max. I moved at probably 10x the rate of the computer so I had control of half the Cells before the computers had any idea what was going on. In the beginning of the game strength and reproduction are the stats I found most helpful, but you'll find what stats work with your play style best as you play a few levels and sequence a few genes in.

I'll be adding to this as I get time, currently at work and need to get back to what I was doing before lol.

agility determines the chance of your virus splitting open in between another cell when moving
the higher your agility, the higher the chance

What good does that do?

tohn: Yeah haha. Max Speed, Strength and Reproduction, that's my style and it NEVER fails. This game is way too easy. Agility isn't important (well, Speed is better anyway) and Defense.... It's nice, but this kind of virus is meant to be played fast. Why worry about losing cells when you can take them right back with almost no resistance? Just spread out and crush them.
