Technically it isn't. It's just a very similar subject. But who your best friend is, is not necessarily the same as the person you hold the most respect for, or the first person you made friends with on the site, or the user you think is generally the friendliest.
You could have a half spammy /b/tard as your dearest friend because after a while you hit off... And it wouldn't fit any of those other threads.
That said, the general type of replies this could attract might eventually get the thread locked. You know, if people are lazy and just post a username and leave it at that. Might also get locked if there's other issues. But for now, nah.
