This is about the best band that is currently still active, but hasn't released an album in awhile.
My vote goes towards the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There were few rock groups of the '80s that broke down as many musical barriers and were as original as the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Creating an intoxicating new musical style by combining funk and punk rock together (with an explosive stage show, to boot), the Chili Peppers spawned a slew of imitators in their wake, but still managed to be the leaders of the pack by the dawn of the 21st century.
I would have to say System of a down, they have been on hiatus since 2006, their solo projects have been great but I still miss the bands music. Also Red hot chilli peppers are a great band another one of my favourites.
Well...perhaps not really best or famous...but Fort Minor certainly ranks amongst my favourites...Shinoda said that he needed to spend more time on his stay with Linkin Park...so perhaps you could say it's on a hiatus....
Rancid have been on hiatus for almost 5 years, but now they released their new album (Let The Dominoes Fall - Epitaph records), so it's not relevant...
No Trigger haven't released an album since 2006, so their on a break... And they're fuckin' awesome!!!
"Weird Al" Yankovic is releasing his first album in 4 years next spring, but he's not a band (although he does have one) so he doesn't count. Even if he did,I'd still go with the Chili Peppers. They're an All-Time great. HOF 2010!
Talking about Paul, not RHCP or SOAD. I don't really like calling them by they're initals.
I agree it sucks... "Oh!Have you seen MFATGG live??Their great?" "I looove AWS!" "Oh the last album of TWIFS is very good"! ...
For the information: MFATGG= Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (All Star Punk COver Band from USA, with Fat Mike (NOFX) and Joey Cape (Lagwagon)) AWS= A Wilelm Scream (Hardcore Punk from USA) TWIFS= The World/Inferno Friendship Society (Soul Punk from USA)
Black Sabbath. Technically not actually active, as Ozzy has his solo career and the rest of them are touring with Dio. I don't think they've released an actual album since Reunion in 1998, which really isn't an album, as it's live. Mostly just releasing annoying compilations.
Hopefully they get together and tour before they die. (Which I see in the next 10 years)
