Hi everyone, I just got a new laptop but I have my saved game of gemcraft chapter 0 on my old laptop. I'd really like to transfer my saved game to my new laptop.

I'm running Windows Vista on the old laptop and Ubuntu on the new. I've tried manually copying the firefox profile as well as using FEBE to backup my cookies, but no luck with either. Any suggestions? Is this even possible?

GemCraft Chapter 0 gives you a code of your saved game which you can paste into NotePad and save as a .txt document. Then you can transfer that document to your new laptop, copy the code and paste it into the game when you open it. Should work?

You start the game up, select "continue game", select the saved game you wish to continue (in case you've saved at more than one point), click "save game" in the ingame menu, and copy the code in the field on the bottom of the screen.

With the length of the code, you would probaly need to paste the code into a text document and use a USB stick to tranfer the document

Any suggestions if I can't see the code? It's not showing up.

I can't help you if you can't see it, but yeah copy the code and email yourself the code. If you find it. I don't use Gemcraft.

Right. The yellow/beigeish box isn't showing up on my screen. It just says 'Select a slot...' with a small space beneath it, and then the text, 'Note: saved games...'

You can always, for most games, go into your cookies and find the save game's text in there and paste it into some new cookies

On Windows, to get to the save data for flash games, you need to make sure you can view hidden files and folders. Then go to C:\\Documents and Settings\\[your name]\\Application Data\\Macromedia\\Flash Player\\#Shared Objects\\[random letters]\\
in there is a list of all the websites that have flash content that have data on your computer. I believe armor games is cache.armorgames.com
Navigate through the subfolders (/files/games/ for most, though i think gemcraft is one of the games that gets put directly in the cache.armorgames.com folder) and see if you can find the .sol file that looks like it comes from whatever game you want, and then copy that file to the corresponding place on the other computer.

the reason you dont see your game file code is because you are just going to the saved games from the main menu. you have to first load you game and then when you are at you map screen you click on save game, then you will see you game code

Please don't revive dead threads. it's called necroposting (That right?), and is sort of like spam. Threads are considered dead after half a month, and definitely at one or two months.

If you can't find the right cookie (many cookies have weird names) , copy them all and it should turn up. Heck, a lot of stuff you might want will be there. But some cookies may not work.
