I seriously looked all over for this and the closest I found was a Sims 3 vs. Spore Galactic Adventures so I decided to create this one. Sorry if there is already one like it and if there is please direct me towards it. Anyway I have been looking on most of the question sites and seeing what people think, so I decided to ask my own question on this website. Just comment on what you think is better and explain why.
I personnally think The Sims 2 was better at the current moment because The Sims 3 is very annoying as far as glitches. Seriously guys have babies without a girl partner and vice versa. Then you have babies being kidnapped, families appearing and disappearing, and sims don't really engage in activity. But glitches aside, it doesn't have enough. Sure there is a seemless neighborhood but there aren't enough places to go and things to do. The Sims 2 made me really happy, and with all the challenges and CC built towards the game which made it better!
The Sims 3 is of course, a recently released game. The bugs will be fixed, through time. I personally want to play the Sims 3 right now. Since the game is new and expansion packs are yet to be released, we cannot effectively compare both games. The Sims 3 however is a major improvement over it's predecessor. The Sims 2 is still very fun though.
Yeah I definently think that they are both fun! The only thing that bothers me is that there is not enough Custom Content (CC) out for TS3. The challenges are harder because you are not isolated, and the sims 2 had cc that made the game fun with awesome mods and better clothes.
The only thing that really bothers me to no end about TS3 is the COMPLETE lack of Custom content. Hairstyles are hard to come by and new ones make your computer crash, no meshes are present because it is sooo hard to get it in the game, and the creators once again put very ugly clothes in...uggh when will they learn.
It will take time for custom content to be made. I could say there are still people making custom content for the Sims 2.
About the bugs, sadly you can only. The game was released last month. The creators are working on patches. I suggest you go and find some patches to alleviate the situation, for now.

I know. And that is why I will keep a copy of Sims 2 and Sims 3. Though the seamless gameplay and lack of loading screens makes gameplay fun too.

Yeah there are definently still people making CC for TS2. In fact, I believe there may still be a few more at the current moment than making CC for TS3. But the creators of TS3, EA Games, definently made it harder to make and get things into the game like custom meshes without erasing an already existing mesh. And then when you install the CC into the game, it ends up crashing your game...sadly...Hopefully give it time...If not I'm pullin out my Sims 2 games lol.
Yeah. Only time will tell. You could play Sims 2 to kill the time.

When the Sims 2 was first released in 2004, there wasn't much you could do aside from living inside your house. The expansions added (through time) heavily to the game. The same with the original Sims. Apparently, EA has decided to make us buy expansion packs (that have not been created yet) for us to enjoy Sims 3 even more. Like I said before, waiting (which is horribly time consuming) is all you can do.
