If a thread gets locked and it was the latest post in the forum, i think that the locked symbol should appear next to the link on te latest post spot. On the community homepage.

hmmm sounds like a pretty good idea. That would tell people if it is locked on the community homepage.

Ummm, I don't exactly agree with this because people wouldn't visit the thread if they knew it was locked. I think they should still look at locked threads because it might answer some questions they might have. Plus, I think the community might look a little messy with a couple of lock symbols everywhere.

I don't think we really need this.

I was actually going for this idea until Flippin talked. He makes a very good point. And also, if new people do not see that it is a duplicate or a spam thread then how will they learn?

I agree with Flippin. Just because a thread is locked doesn't mean it doesn't have any answered. In a lot of cases it's locked because it has an answer.

Along with most threads having an answer posted, and then being locked, some threads that are locked, might also learn new users what should not be posted on the forums.

That's a good point. maybe AG could get a different logo. Like a big A for answered or something. It would be locked but you would no which ones were locked that had an answer

That would look a bit tacky, maybe just an alteration of the current lock symbol. A different color or something.

Anyway, I don't really like having it out on the main forum page. That would make it look cluttered I think.

I understand what you are saying, because it can be annoying to see a thread and want to respond, not realizing it has already been locked. But to add it on the front page seems a little unnecessary. I think it is only a minor inconvenience, and one that does not happen often.
