Of course it's better to buy new stuff, but if there's a good deal for something used and it works fine then I would consider buying it used. Usually more expensive things I don't buy used though, like game systems, ipods, etc.
i dont buy used clothes or anything like that but i love to buy used video games (disks not consoles). i can get 2 used games for the same price as one new game. plus the place i go has an awsome warranty and their games almost always work perfectly.
I buy everything new. I don't want to take chances with used items. However, I did buy a couple of used games in my lifetime. I would buy a used car as a first car, though, because new cars are too expensive.

Cars are on of the things that most people should start off getting used. Just make sure that it's of good enough quality though. Because getting a new car and crashing it within the first year would really suck. If you get a used car for a couple thousand dollars you're not out as much.
