I'm just going to reply to the OP.

Personally, the only advantage pirates have in close combat is their firearms. I can imagine a wing of heavily armored cavalry charging into a mob of pirates. Ouch!

So the pirates could win, as long as they have enough ammo. Once the melee begins, knights will decimate them!

IF YOU POST IN A THREAD TO SAY THAT IT IS SPAM/POINTLESS, YOU ARE SPAMMING. AT LEAST CONTRIBUTE TO THE THREAD WHILE YOU ARE NOTIFYING THE AUTHOR OF THE SPAM

I forgot to mention that I excluded the cannons.

Well, the cannons might or might not decimate the fast moving cavalry.

Due to the slow fire rate of the muskets (and other guns) of the days of piracy, if enough soldiers manage to reach the pirates, the pirates are in for a lot of trouble.

Well, it'll never happen. It never did. And neither would win. Why? Cause they never met. Royalty versus scumball thieves on the seas. Ya, never happened.

Knights would win though. 40mph was quite fast back in the 1600s. Also, knights didn't even exist then. Where exactly did this thread even come from?

This thread is pointless spam. All it needs is one sentence, and you, the op, don't even have to do anything. You should put this in the forum games section, or something. Cuz it's not going to last. It's dumb.
