Nope, you have to stick with the avatars they provide. That way they don't have to worry about what people are uploading, and it keeps the theme of the site.
If you could post your own pictures... *shivers* no. control. what-so-ever.
No, you can only use the unlocked armatars that you can access. Personal photos cannot be used as armatars.
