Well everyone else has their very own art thread, so I thought...why not me?
Answer to the question: Because I don't have much art right now.
Shut me!
Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of things with you. I'm going to be taking a commercial art class when school starts up again too, so when that comes along I might show you some of that.
I did these a few years ago, not sure when. They might have dates on them, but I'm too lazy to look, lol. Sorry if they're a bit big, but that's so you can read the text.
So here's a Veggie Tales themed one. Poor guys, gonna go in the blender =D
And I don't know where I came up with this one, but it's pretty good in my opinion.
The writing in the comic is hard for me to read, but it's still good. I like the Vegie Tales one xP. The Regal Tang looks funny in crayon :x.
Lol yeah, all my colored pencils were dead though >.< And I couldn't find a regular pencil. About the writing, it doesn't look too bad to me. Hehe my handwriting is probably worse now xP
Haven't updated this in awhile, but I've got some stuff to show. I've decided to scan a lot of the work I've been doing in Commercial art, into my computer.
So first off is the logo project we did. Basically, we chose a made up company, and then designed a logo for them. I had a company named "Cyclepath". Here are the thumbnails I made. Thumbnails are small little sketches, the point of them is to get all your ideas out on paper.
Next, the teacher chose the three ideas he thought could be expanded upon the most, and turn out the most creative and professional. He chose the ones circled, and here are the roughs I created. Roughs are larger, more detailed drawings that expand upon the ideas in the chosen thumbnails.
Next, he chose his favorite design out of the roughs. What we do then is create a very professional, detailed, and larger version of the rough chosen. Also called a comprehensive drawing.
(I didn't have time to color the C in all the way)
Then the last step is to scan that comprehensive into the computer, and use it as a template to recreate the entire logo in Adobe Illustrator. Here is my resulting logo. (sorry for the weird colors on the C, I don't know why my scanner did that)
The next thing I'd like to show you guys in the project I'm working on now. My class is designing the ID's to be used in my school, and school district next year, and sophomores are designing the nurse and bus ID's. Here are the thumbnails for the transportation.
Then, as before, my teacher chose the best idea out of those.
Currently I'm working on the roughs, they're due Tuesday at the end of class.
I just need to create a back ground for those, and then create 4 more id's.
We're also doing the nurse ID's. These are given to special needs students, who due to a medical condition, may need to go to the nurse at any given time. These excuse the student from class.
I haven't started on the roughs for those yet.
Feel free to give feedback, good or bad =D Keep in mind that thumbnails and roughs aren't supposed to be high quality images, and that this was my first experience with Adobe Illustrator.
