Ahem. I know this is related to Video Games, but I don't think it belongs in the Video Games section because the only posts there that get replies are console war ones.
Anyways, I want a PS3. I am sick and tired of Nintendo, none of their games have a good storyline, none challenge me, all are kid games, and all of their games are obssesed with "innituitive gameplay". I'm a gamer, not an idiot waving around a plastic stick!
Anyways(again), I want a PS3, but as you can immagine, they are expensive. I want 80 GB and that costs $400. Also, my birthday is coming in two months. Anything moneywise goes through my mom even if I ask my dad, and my mother is a cheapskate. For my last birthday I got a jar of cheesepuffs! That's it!
Anyways, with my birthday coming up in two months, and the price, I want one now. I can't sit around for two months and do nothing. So I need you to help me get some good arguments and points.
I'm 13 so my options re limited to mowing lawns. I wont be able to but a PS3 by my birthday but I'll be able to get a game. I'll probably get Left 4 Dead.
Saving your money, show them in the jar of glass("For PS3" that you really want it that bad, collect the money until $200-$250, so you can shows your parents that you want it that bad. Then ask them to add $100-$150, so it's like mutual fund.
Btw, how's your family financial? I mean, is $100 looks like you eat a burger or is looks like a gold bar?
you can sell some items you don't use anymore. Bat, basketball, toys, PS2, Nintendo(btw, is it Wii that you mention here?)
You can share this problem with your friend, you have some older friend right, perhaps you can ask them to do a job for them, you can do it on your spare time.
It doesn't have to in 2 months, If you can get $50/month, it would be 6 months(your parents add $100).
You can tell your dad why you really want it and ask him how to make more money, ask for his suggestions and support.
NOTE: After you work hard here and there and collect $300 yourself, you might don't really want PS3 anymore, because you know that money doesn't fall from the sky. Perhaps you can use that $300 to make small business or help your family when they really need it.
You can start up a mowing company u could get calls from people u dont know and go mow there grass just put up like flyers all around ur neighborhood ur number how much is it gonna cost like 10$ and u should be able to buy that PS3 in no time at all...
My dad and I were looking which one to get ps3 or xbox 360. Everyone has their opinion and you can't really see which is better so me and my dad looked at the facts and my friends' consoles. We went with the xbox and now I have no regrets. I think you should buy the Xbox 360 pro console 60GB. Before you knock it down look into it more. If you get the xbox then you have to buy the Nyko Intercooler for it. It's $20 but keeps the console cool so you don't get the red rings of death.
