?? I don't get how that makes her an egotist. You really shouldn't complain about your mom like that; she pays for your stuff and took care of you when you were little. And she doesn't seem that bad; there are definitely worse parents.
P.S.- What was the purpose of this thread, exactly?
to see if anyone thinks if she is an egotist. And actually, she doesn't pay for much fo my stuff. She pays teh electric bill for my computer(bought by my dad). One time when my dad was away all i got for my birthday was cheespuffs.
Dude I wish I had a mom like that! Really! My mom is too nice, I mean it. One time, out of the ordinary i "accidentally" broke a vase, and she said it was her fault. Too nice.
dude what your mom is doing is... being a mom. all moms want whats best for their child (usually anyway) but often show it in ways that we find irritating, frustrating, and embarassing lol its normal
I don't think she has a huge ego by what you told me. She is just telling you. And if you mouth off too her that wont help.
I think she has ego, but not big, not like my mom.
It's terrible, lucky my mom can't speak English so I can tel the truth here, no, no it's my mom, my parent. We don't want to bad-word our parents, aren't we? Except if your parents are 'extraordinary'.
From my experience, older people tends to get 'weirder' every year, they just 'a little bit disconnect' from our today's world, it's like they live in their own 'time' and 'world'.
Older people tend not to 'change' they like to change people, but they don't change.
It's easier for us to change our habit, way of speaking and thinking when we are young.
But that's a family, nothing is perfect, as long as you can still talking to them, share some opinions, get a job or even better - get a life. We need more time with our family, but remember this, when they still ask you something or dislike if you do this or that, that means your parents still care about you, it just the way they speaking 'sounds strange' in our ears.
I'm from Indonesia, now study in China. Away from my parents, now I have to take care of myself, now I 'understand' what my parents feeling, what they say when I was small and misbehave. Life just get better, our relation just get better.
One time when my dad was away all i got for my birthday was cheespuffs.
Oh!!! Poor little guy!!cheespuffs unstead of the new Jonas Brothers's record!!! I don't really see the ego in it, man... Anyway, whatever you do, whoever you become, at any time of your life, your Mum will alwayas and ever be your Mum, the woman that carried you in her body, who raised you, who saw you growing up, etc... You can't change that, so you must get used to that...
