i agree everything is $19.95 but that only ticks me off if it was originally an $80 dollar value. other infomorcials that tick me off are the "money back guarantee" when the product itself is only $6.00. whos gonna take the time to get their 6 bucks back?
Well, the original reasoning behind doing this pricing was making sure a cashier didn't just pocket the money. If they're required to give you change, then it'd be a lot harder for them to hide stealing money like that. Like, if you didn't get change, you'd just walk away, then they'd keep the money. With how easy it is to detect if a register is under how much has been sold, it's not wise for a cashier to do that, so that reasoning is moot. After that, the reasoning has singled out to what's been said before: "it makes it seem cheaper."
