I have a website and I was wondering if it is legal to copy a flash game from a website like Armorgames.com, upload it to my server and embed it onto my website? I was just wondering before I did this. Also, if it varies, how do you know when it is legal or not? Thanks!

You can embed certain games onto your website for free. You can also download the games.

Just go to this page.

Yes, you can do that. But it would be polite to ask the game creator first, and reference.

shayneii: How do you know what are the "certain games" you can put onto your site? Most of the games you can download from that link are pretty outdated or just not very good.

Moabarmorgamer: So even if it says something like "Copyright 2008 Armor Games" would I be able to legally? I would put a link to armorgames.com

The certain games I was talking about are the ones that show up on that page, sadly.

So it is illegal to just any a random game onto my website unless I contact the developer? (who will most likely want payment)

That's not what I meant. You wouldn't get in copyright trouble, but it would be polite to ask the developer.

So for example, on Warfare 1917 it says "Developer: Armor Games". To make sure I wouldn't get into any trouble and to be polite, I should send them an email asking for permission?

I think it would be best to contact the developer directly. He'll know better than any of us.

Per def: State credits if nothing else is noted.
If you have the chance, it would be the best to ask for a written permission to post these games, but as it is: If nothing else is stated, you will just need to give up credit to the developers, and disclaim you do not own the game.

A good piece of advice would be to check the copyright laws before doing anything, but they change quickly.
