Worst film I've seen in a hell of a long while. Transformers 1 was silly, but fun. You did feel some sort of emotional bond with the characters. Transformers 2 pushed the boundaries of realism even within it's own universe, breaking it's own rules. Not only that, so many aspects of it were just downright irritating.
1) The All Spark, which killed Megatron in the first film is now used in the 2nd film to bring Transformers back to life. Wtf?
2) Decepticons can turn into humans now? Well that's a convenient little disguise. Why the hell don't they just infiltrate NEST security by being disguised as military/government personnel and do their job from the inside, instead of exposing themselves to the Autobots?
3) The fight scene at the end, between Optimus and the Fallen lasted about 30 secs. Not exactly a great climax. It's as if they'd spent all the CGI budget on the ridiculously overstretched and confusing battle scene before that.
4) There are too many Transofrmers now. Probably upwards of 30+, and as a result, you care for none of them. All the charm of the original 80s thing cut to shreds all in the name of making more money from the inevitable line of toys to be released.
I could go on forever, but I think you get the point.
Oh and one last thing, Megan Fox, probably the fittest girl ever, but completely wasted in a 12A. At least go for a 15, making the film grittier, and thus be able to see a decent amount of skin.
I haven't seen it yet, but maybe that's for the best. I was a fan of Transformers from their start, because my dad saved all the old 1980's episodes for me. I watched all of them, and every single new version of the series, (Cybertron, Animated, etc.) has sucked. After the original movie, they've never managed to get it right again. And from what I hear, Fallen is still with that trend of abandoning the old values and things of the original. But, it's appeasing to all the other people my age, and that's what makes the money, so I know nothing's changing anytime soon. I'll watch it, just not considering it as part the series from my childhood.
