Since they were both created by the same person no one copied anything. I'm not sure which one was released first, although if I had to take a guess I'd say America's Got Talent.

In the end, nothing we do will matter. That doesn't mean they're not fun or interesting.
Both Simon Cowells idea to release even more torture onto our screens so no idea is copied. Americas one started on 21st July 2006 while Britains version started on the 9th June 2007. Both are shit.
