Hey all. I just sent in my xbox to get repaired for this. It was out of warranty, however, Microsoft is still fixing this for free which is great. Has anyone has an experience with this? How soon should I expect my console back and do they send me a refurbished or a new console? Thanks!
Darn. Thanks for the reply uber1. Fingers crossed I don't have to wait months. Too bad your friend had to pay. It was free when I filled out my repair ticket on xbox's website. :-( Also too bad it is a refurb they send you. Makes me sort of worried for down the road what other problems I will be faced with. Oh well... should have bought a PS3 I guess. Lesson learned...

lol ya that's how I would feel when mine goes, but hopefully by then the 720 will come out. Anyway it might be end of July when he sent so you still have hope. But its definitely refurbished unless you have a store warranty.
Since I have the Halo 3 Edition Xbox 360 mine has a better chance of not getting the three red rings. Luckily, the source I heard it from was true to its word!
