Any-who, the United States will just wither away when the revolution is completed in a proper Marxist fashion. But if that doesn't happen, the United States will become meaningless when the power of economic globalization takes over teh world! Then domestic terrorism will take its toll...
Yes, if there is one thing that is true it is that if we do not learn from the past we are condemned to repeat it. History is a repetitive cycle, the rise and the fall. Every great empire has met its golden age and has fallen sometime after. The Roman Empire met its inevitable defeat for many reasons, and there are many reasons that could cause the downfall of the US. If we allow them to get worse and worse, the US shall gradually crumble under the force of these problems and then collapse when all is lost. The energy crisis, political corruption, revolts, all of these things could lead to the downfall of any nation, but if it is not those specifically, there are many, many more.
Who says it has to fall? That doesn't always happen.
This is simple to counter: name a still existing empire. Oh wait, there are none left. Exactly my point. Nations, empires, powerful countries, they're all the same to some degree.
The British Empire is dead. Yes there is still a Great Britain but that's because the reeled in their colonial efforts after various British colonies rebelled against them.
China's been kickin for a long, long time. However at this point I will distinguish between an "empire" and a people.
Incidentally, America has never been an empire, and while it's been behaving more like one lately, it would do wise to learn from Great Britain and quit it!
As history demands, great nations and empires must rise and fall. What do you think will cause the downfall of the US?
As the US government was made to constently adapt to change, we will always have a 50/50 agreement on almost everything. Our downfall will be the inability to provide for ourselves once the basic infastructures like farming and construction become foriegn to the comman man.
If you can not currently grow, hunt, or make something worth trading for food and water. I suggest you get a hobby.
Yeah China has been around for a very, very long time, yet they are not an empire, and all of their empires fell hundreds of years ago.
The thing is, nothing lasts forever, history has showed us that. I'm not exactly sure on what my ideas are for the downfall of the US, only that I think someday it will no longer be a very powerful nation. I think that if anything, a nuclear war with the combined forces of China, Russia, and North Korea all targeting the US, it would deal a serious blow and probably cripple it as a once powerful nation.
