The graphics card (GPU)is the part that lets your PC perform better with high graphics . The RAM is the part witch gives your PC some extra speed . Mostly all games need RAM . The motherboard is the heart of a PC where all the parts go in . The CPU does all the thinking , the faster and bigger your CPU the faster the PC .
I have the E6600 Duo core rated at 2.4 GHz. I have 2 GB of OCZ DDR2 @ 800 MHz. I'm still using my Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX; still gets it done. The board is an ASUS P5K.
Additionally, I have a Hauppage WinPVR 500 card that allows me to record 2 television feeds simultaneously. The cooling system is after-market parts from Gigabyte, and my PSU is modular & rated at about 750W.

Generally people who know a shred about complex computing, techs, sys-admins, or interested parties. It's about the same as knowing what kind of engine is in your car. If you like cars & have a nice ride, chances are you might have an idea of what's under the hood.
