One of my faves is Holy-Wars. Its a crusades themed game. But most dont like it because it is all numbers. (No cute little knights walking around bashing things.) But the people are great fun to chat with in the shoutbox.
My favorite is guild wars, because all of the aspects of it are about as good as wow, but its not even close to as expensive because there is no monthly fees.
