I believe yes, because in our current system, he who has the gold still makes the rules. Presidents have been told, 'You cannot have access to that information, you're a temporary employee,' by senators. I believe that is wrong.

There is more ways that can remove the rich from power. If you removed the greedy and made them middle-class and made the lower-classes to middle-class alowing them to get better jobs and education (ect..). Which will bost your nation's economy. If you allowed the general public to have some even a very small part of your government will also help how the country is run, and then rich million or billion airs will be removed from power and making them a normal citizen. This will make a very un-corrupted government by giving power into the people (Which We Rarly Have These Days, "We, the people" is wrong). Public Helath Care would also boost a avr. life expentancly.

The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.

- Winston Churchill.

Presumably. At the moment however, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in major political reform in first world countries.

Don't forget his other awesome quote:

"Democracy is the worst form of government, except all the others."

Democracy is working for now. But it still sucks.

I think if we get politicians that don't have personal agendas or aren't in it for the money we would be better off. Politicians that realize that they actually work for us, not the other way around.

I assume you mean Democracy, so I'll have my opinion based on that.

Anyway, politicians are people, they will almost always be people, unless we incorporate aliens or robots into our society... Therefore, politicians will almost always be 'corrupt' with 'ersonal agendas'. Even with a government of completely honest, selfless people, you'd have still have issues with the public, the people, who are not quite so similar to their leaders.

People disagree, they fight, and they just don't get along, to govern these people...and keep their rights, and their happiness, is a difficult task.

What if everyone had the same amount of gold?

Pure communism would be perfect, unfortunately that is extremely hard (possibly impossible) to pull off.

First world countries are so successful because they know what works. The government we have now isn't going to change anytime soon, even if theoretically other things would work better.

Good points guys, however,

If you removed the greedy and made them middle-class and made the lower-classes to middle-class alowing them to get better jobs and education (ect..). Which will bost your nation's economy.

what you explain here won't work. It is wrong to mess up people's lives like that. I'm no advocate for the rich, but the rich who become middle class will try to keep their rich lifestyle and become poor. The idea about giving average people some of the governing power I like, but I'm afraid politicians will choose who they want and who will support them. Also, if a man who's making $20,000 a year is offered a bribe of one million dollars, he's much more likely to take the bribe.

Can we make a better form of government? I'd like to think so considering our current options suck.

The one way of making things better is by making as many options as you can and totally change the system (in a good way) Instead of cheating through bribing and taking over places forcfully and taking all the resources let them sell the resources.

Well heres my view on the whole subject please no one take personal offense its an opinion its up to you how you feel about it

anyway i think that as long as humans run the goverment we will never have that perfect goverment so unless we become ruled by something that has no emotions and thinks with cold uncompromising logic then our goverment would never work the only problem with this is "to be a leader of people that leader must be a person " cause people will not follow something that is not one of them

Still, who would program this cold, unthinking logic? A human. And the way you're talking about it, a human having access to the government's programming! It'd be a recipe for disaster!
