As in our government, our economic system puts those who have money in power. We need to change that so all have equal oppurtunity to be successful.

M'kay. I don't see any other way to create equality of opportunity other than a worker's revolution.

Well, there is always the way of a petition. But thats putting the cart before the horse. What could this new economic system be?

A socialistic economic system would be certainly better than the one we have now.

A true communist system would be best for everyone(not that USSR/China/Cuba ect version).

Homeland security should be observing what you do on the internet at this point!

But on the topic, I believe in an overhaul of the capitalist system entirely. Basically a worker's revolution, but I am talking about pacifist, democratic means. The new heath care plan, which makes certain that insurance companies can't deny people coverage just because they are out of work or can't pay for it, is a step closer to a less capitalist system (which in my opinion is splendid). Without socialist reforms in the United States ( yes, socialist ) such as state funded paved roads, Medicare, public schools, The Veteran's Administration (socialized medicine for veterans), social security, and government regulations over virtually every sector of the private economy, capitalism would be a terrible system for most people to live in. As a socialist, I don't think we've gone far enough in terms of social reform of the capitalist system here in America.

The new health care reform bill, for example, is not so much an economic decision for me as it is a moral one. Life is a basic right but health isn't? Blah! And by the way, the new health care plan mostly isn't socialized health care. Only a small part of it is public and the people still would have to pay for a small part of it. The only thing making it universal health care is the fact that if this bill is passed, private companies, which will still be private, cannot deny certain people such as the unemployed medical claims. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Democrats, Socialists, and even SOME conservatives think that it is a moral choice to allow all citizens to enjoy the luxury of health insurance.

Socialism is needed most areas that effect every person's daily life. Norway became rich when the government did not allow private U.S. oil companies to harvest oil there. And because the government owns all of the oil belongs to Norway, the nation is no longer the giant farmland it was after World War II. The Soviet Union, although it was a repressive bureaucracy, put Russia through the greatest economic leaps it had ever seen under a totally state-planned economy. New Lanark stands as an example of how the harsh capitalist environment is not needed; how the basic needs of the people can be met without using low wages and treating poor people terribly.

Communism is not the answer. One bad leader and it all comes tumbling down. Socialism is NOT something most people want, but I consider partial socialism an option. The biggest problem with capitalism is, you make money just by having money, in my opinion. That doesn't support us. It doesn't reflect on the world around us. We need an economic system that is based on real monetary values without interest, both on loans and savings.

I wouldn't doubt if I have a big CIA file. I have been preaching my left-wing, Anarchist thought for a while. I paste it all over the internet and speak on it all the time. It's kind of fun to think I'm being spied on :-)
