Well, is it not just because they cannot help that you dislike something? Or rather, saying that it is not their problem you disagree with their tastes of music/movies/... politicians...
I'm debating whether to make an annoying comment about Popular Media or not.
Uhm, since this is not about music but a term used. Thus this is most liekly the best place for it, unless you can find any popular media about language..

Trying to figure out what the term would be in Danish, and what the meaning would be with it. That way it should be easier to get the meaning in English, and thus "solving" the problem. I figured it would be something like "Then you are a lost case" or "You have no common sense" or something like it.
